Just bought a new “Red”! Beemah Red!!!

If you don’t use a trip meter to keep track of fuel in the tank you might get in the habit. The “fuel strip” driven gas gauge is a fail for hexheads 2005-2009. If it hasn’t failed yet, it will BMW extended the warranty for 10 or 12 years on the fuel strip.

I remember when I rented one from Denver in 2008 (a Silver 2007 model)- My brother and I were coming over Eisenhower pass and I was nice and warm with the heated seat, windshield up, and the heated grips (you will love all of these!). My brother was on his VMax for the trip (we didn’t have the ST then) and you could see he was really cold and shivering! Once on the downslope we pulled off to a rest stop and he needed time to warm back up. I was fine. Enjoy the bike!

I'll second the watch your miles per tank, those fuel strips are notorious!

That reminds me - I need to dig out all the stuff I bought for my '06 RT and move them out - not to mention the ST11 parts I have laying around. Of course, there is also a stack of parts I should install for the '20 RT <sigh>
