I just called Helmet Express with every intention of buying a Nolan N43 Trilogy, but the sales guy told me there had been several complaints with the chin bar being a little snug.....:(. So just for giggles I asked him how much the Qwest would be, & much to my surprise it gets to my door for $290.53......wow! Since I have never owned a Shoei (but always wanted to), have a 2-week ride coming up on the 18th & found that my Nolan N-100E refused to take another cleaning.....I pulled the trigger!!:D I sure hope I like it!

Wait, you CLEAN your helmet? I thought that the stench of rides gone by was normal.... I should really try that....;-)

John... good deal and all, don't ask me how I know, just bought a qwest with graphics, more then you paid!

But... have you tried one on? are you sure on the size? I mean, even the best deal can be worthless if the thing doesn't fit...
for me, the qwest fits better then my arai q2, which was a complete surprise... but I had to find a local store that had them
to find that out...

No local retail outlets carry the Qwest around here. I took the measurements as per the website & the sales guy said that the XL should fit me well. I had tried the RF-1000 on a couple years back & if fit good. I will be in a tight if it doesn't fit...for sure.

Well here's to hoping it does John, I'm very happy with mine. Pretty impressive lids that's for sure!

My large Qwest fits about the same as the large RF-1000 it replaced. I checked with EnoughNewMotorcycleGear before ordering and they said the sizing runs the same between the two.

Well, the UPS man FINALLY brought the box.....that held my new Light Silver Qwest XL helmet. I brought it home, tried it on (perfect fit - cheek pads a little snug), put my headset in it & went for a ride. I was BLOWN AWAY!!!! Having used several different helmets over the past 11 yrs. (Nolan 100E for the past 6), I felt as though I went from riding in a '72 Ford pickup to a 2012 Cadillac. It is the quietest helmet I have EVER put on my head. I am in love.....as much as I like the flip-up helmet, the difference is like night & day. Can't wait to see how I feel after a long day hot-footing it across the plains, headed to CO this weekend!

I just bought a Shoei RF-1100 today for $403. Canadian. Tried on the Quest as well, but liked the RF-1100 better.

Congratulations John! Good for you!

Have had mine now for about 2 wks and agree, it's a very quiet helmet. The ventilation seems good also. And compared to my Arai Q2, there's a wider field of vision, not dramatically so, but enough to make a difference (easier to do a head check and be confident).

Was able to mount one of the GoPro things on the top also. Don't really like the Vid from that angle, maybe it would be okay following someone else and getting a vid of them. So mine is getting broken in already :) enjoy!

I've had my XL Qwest for awhile now. It's quiet, comfy and has recesses for speakers. It also is quite large and will not fit a saddlebag without scratching the finish. And you haven't seen real helmet head until you've worn a Qwest half a day. You'll have multiple mohawks whether you like it or not!

Hello: I live in Ontario as well. Where did you get the great price on the Shoei?
I have tried on the Qwest and 1100. Havent decided yet.

Thanks

I recently bought 2 Qwest helmets at www.canadasmotorcycle.ca, $470 w/graphic, $350 without + GST (the first was stolen from the garage two weeks after I received it). Very good service, good price and a great lid. They shipped them via Canada Post so there might be a problem with the postal strike?

Has anyone gone from an RF1000 to the Qwest? Just interested in a comparison noise wise.

I've got a RF1100 and the Qwest. The Quest is very quiet (Cycle World said it was The quietest helmet they have ever tested) but the RF is slightly cooler on the ST. My Laminar lip hits its vents just right but just misses the differently designed ones on the Qwest. They are different sizes so I can't say how close the fitting is between same size. I'm at a point of fitting both XL and Large. the RF is the large and the Qwest was bought with winter riding in mind so I'll have a balaclava on and wanted a bit more space for that. I wear it often though letting each air out a bit to extend time between cleanings.
I don't get helmet hair though ;):p:

Mine was bought on ebay a few months back and was $315/free shipping. I got white so my head will not melt in the 100 degree North Texas sun(er...38 Celsius type temps for y'all)

I've been wearing Shoei helmets for a long time and bought a Shoei RF-1100 just before I heard about the Shoei Quest. Jumping from my old Shoei RF-800 to the RF-1100, the RF-1100 is quite a bit quieter and much cooler. It's good to hear the Shoei Quest is as quiet as advertised.
