After months of speculation about his racing future, Ken Roczen has officially committed to another season, returning to Suzuki for the 2027 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship. The reigning 450SX champion will remain with the AWM Fulfillment PMG Suzuki presented by Progressive/Cycle Gear team aboard the RM-Z450 as he prepares to defend his title.

The announcement extends a partnership that began in 2023 and will now enter its fifth consecutive season. Roczen previously won the 2016 AMA Pro Motocross Championship with Suzuki, but his 2026 Supercross title marked his first premier-class indoor championship after 13 years of pursuing the crown.

Roczen’s return wasn’t a foregone conclusion. Following his championship-winning season, the 32-year-old German openly discussed retirement, having finally achieved one of the biggest goals of his career. He also sat out the 2026 Pro Motocross season, leaving questions about how much longer he intended to compete.

Now, rather than stepping away as champion, Roczen will return wearing the coveted No. 1 plate for the first time in Supercross history. His decision also provides continuity for Pipes Motorsports Group, which will look to build on a championship-winning 2026 campaign.

Team officials welcomed the extension, citing Roczen’s experience, preparation and contributions to the program. The 2027 SuperMotocross World Championship season kicks off January 9 at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California, where Roczen will begin his title defense.
