Hi All
Ive got a Kenwood TK 3101 but it has the qt side channels enabled and for the life of me I cant get them back to factory defaults [00] so that the side band/privacy channel is disabled and it will pick up all transmition on all of that frequency instead of applying a squelch to those not set to that QT.I can alter the 16 channel frequencies without issue but the QT channel 00 is eluding me,any QT channel from 01 to 38 is no problem but getting it to disable them [00] is making me scratch my head.Having googled several different manual for this model Ive tried all combinations Ive come across.
I have a programming cable on order but I would have thought it possible without...

check the stwiki
Also I think blrfl has the programming tools for this model.

And has (or at least had) a standing offer to program them back to default.

Did you follow the (complicated) instructions on the following 4 pages of the manual? I've been able to change the codes manually as indicated but it is easier with the cable and software.

Hound has Posted the UK manual [446MHz] on the other forum as to programming back to standard its just a case of a few button presses per setting and per channel.Looking at this manual it differs from the US manual in that they have the 00 setting which disables the qt mode...how starnge.Mine was off e*ay from a chap who does/did driving lessons I got it for ?50 inc postage
BTW another of the group had one rigidly mounted upright on the inside of his topbox....sorry names are not my strong suit....he came with his wife on the back.
