17°/31°C, currently only a few clouds, chances of rain for the afternoon & evening
(not without the obligatory "the end is near!" warning by those weather-guessers... )

one (if not the) highlights of this weekend surely was MIL's dinosaur dinner (AKA rotisserie chicken... )
not only over the munching get together...
but especially over the added show act of setting half of it on fire... literally...
flames leaping out the oven seem to be a regular occurrence at the in-laws...
DIL didn't even bat an eye and remained seated, observing, silently...
MIL calmly approached the mobile grill/oven to open the door (the grease-fire backdraft almost took her eyebrows off...),
recovered the tray with the animal parts blazing in flames, to carry the partially cremated remains outside...
Nothing to see, standard meal preparation procedures here...

It were two big birds, so still enough to munch for everyone...

Today's plans: none...

There'll be more front door repair today as the epoxy to fill the old door handle hole didn't deal with all the tiny imperfections, so I had to break out the automotive spot / glazing putty. The last time we painted the front door I took the whole thing off and out to the garage, where it was sanded and painted it with my air powered spray guns. This time I was told it's staying on the door, and being brushed. Less work for me, so why would I object? The door handle also needs a bit more to finish it's install, but I didn't bother with that yesterday as I'll need to remove it all for the door to be properly painted. I was told to just tape off the new handle when the door was painted, but no tape job is perfect, and removing the brand new hardware is the right way to do it.

There might be ride later on, if I know how Mrs/. O thinks, but sometimes I'm not even close to guessing what she's thinking.

Thanks for the start sounds like it worked out good for the most part
Rain this morning pulled the cover off and backed the ST in after dusk when it looked like a bit of ash or something falling
managed to get on quite a bit during the week a few late nights and fair bit of parking lots and traffic errands to get some slow speed practice in
a couple days of rain coming so might get out in some of that as well
it's all good jolly fun

Thanks Martin, and thanks to the rest of y'all for keeping it quiet so I could sleep in. No church duties, but I do need to get my car running again, at some point.
At least that's what I'm being told by Roz.
I haven't even cranked it since December.
Well, I have procrastinated sufficiently to require a new battery for it, among other things. (Radiator hoses, most likely.)
When I put a voltmeter on it and it read 4.13 volts, I told myself, "Nah. This puppy ain't gonna ever charge."
Two days later on a Battery Tender proves me right. But you'll likely agree, that was a pretty sure bet...
Shame.
I've rather enjoyed being a full-time motorcyclist again.
But I suppose Kaiser would prefer getting out of the house, on the rainy days when he stays home, and we've had a lot of them this summer.
Yesterday I did get around to calling Nashcat and Shuey, and they are both doing well. Shuey is replacing his kitchen for a new one, but doing it the smart way.
He's paying someone to do it.
I also cut the whole yard yesterday, and finished as wet as if I had taken a shower. So to make it right, I took an actual shower when I finished, put on clean dry clothes (which just seemed to make sense), and said "I think I'll lie down for a minute", and did that too.
That "minute" somehow became more than 180 minutes, until Roz came and woke me up.
This morning Roz woke up in pain, which seems to be the usual these days, and also woke up annoyed because the cats didn't wake me up for their feeding time. Although they probably tried.
As I said, I WAS enjoying sleeping late today.
So they ate 90 minutes later than their normal schedule... I say, they can just sue me.
With our humidity, I'm sweating just by stepping outside to drink my coffee.
Don't know what the weather looks like, probably sticky and hot, and likely the skies will cry again at some point.
But so far it's been a good day, even though it has not yet been a long day... I robbed the coffee pot shortly after turning it on, before it had finished dripping through, so my two-thirds cup tasted like a medium-strength espresso.
Not like a true espresso, but halfway between a a full-bodied espresso and a fresh, stout strong cup of coffee.
Simply delicious.
I reckon it's gonna be a great day, and even if it doesn't turn out just that way, I'm going to pretend like it is.
Because I don't hurt anywhere, and I woke up again today breathing and with a pulse.
Respiratin' and palpitatin' is a good way to start, doncha think?

Good morning and thanks for the coffee start, Martin.

It started out in the low 50s with sunny skies, going to 82, later.

We had an interesting race day, yesterday , with a couple of hospital trips. Other than that and the heat, it wasn't too bad.

Today should be a shorter day.
We have one race that carried over from yesterday, then normal racing.
We're also the end of a memorial ride for a racer who died in turn 6 five years ago. He owned a local motorcycle shop, and was one of the nicest guys around.

Morning Martin & All from an overcast sky in Southern Utah!

Currently it is 85F, heading for 95F. I guess I was wrong about a couple of things yesterday. It looks like the Monsoonal weather is still with us. And when I went outside in the 106F temps, the winds were blowing and I felt in I was in a blast furnace!
The winds are already blowing from the S @ 7, and later will be from the SW @ 16 to 25. And "possible" thunderstorms this afternoon. We'll see.

Still recovering from the grandkids visit, so nothing was done yesterday. And besides church today, nothing else will be happening!

Boiled eggs, bacon, toast & OJ for the morning start. Pepsi(s) for later.

Good afternoon / evening / night everyone

Not sure what I've missed in the last week. Hope nobody has had crises of health, finance, faith, or family while I've been gone.

At the end of yesterday's ride, which was also the end of the event as a whole, I finally got around to getting a Beekman's Homemade Ice Cream.

They're legendary in Iowa, and churn ice cream on-site at various events using antique equipment. I know you'll get a kick out of the video. What sounds like tapping is actually a much more robust ka-CHUG-a ka-CHUGGA ka-CHUG. I could hear it from a couple blocks away, making it easy to home in on the source.
