Here is my product report for the LD Comfort riding shorts I bought from the retailer at WeSTOC in Redmond Washington. I wore them home for 1600 miles...

GET THEM! THEY WORK! WISH I BOUGHT TWO PAIRS INSTEAD OF ONE! :hotpepper :clap2:

LD COMFORT

My friend Mario sold me shorts and shirt as well -- and helpfully delivered two cans of paint from Redmond. (LDComfort is located in my hometown of Hoquiam, WA.)

What can I say? LDComfort really guards against of moisture anyway it can! :)

On my trip, I used NIKE Profit Sports Underwear.

I sweat a lot and I was comfy the whole way home. No MB even on the 1300 mile single day SS1000.

I'll be purchasing more of these and I think I can get 2 for the price of one of the LD's.... :)

Might work for some of you if you want to try an alternative first.

Who let that kid in my party!?

I use bicycle shorts on LD trips. You can get the cheap ones at Performance Bicycle for about $20.00 - sometimes they're on sale for $14.95.

Another vote for bicycle pants. They fit real close but not uncomfortably tight, are not bulky, have seamless and padded bottoms, and are good at wicking away moisture. I use them for all rides over 3 hrs.

++1 on the LD Shorts & Long unders, been using them for a few years now. They keep you dry & really work as advertised. you can wash them in the sink, roll em in a towel & they are good n dry in the morning. Wear em day after day w/o issue.

LD shorts are very good. I have 2 pairs.

I tried, but never found any bike shorts that were as good. Some had seams or strange padding that shifted, bunched or rolled after extended time in the saddle, but most were just a much thinner & less comfortable fabric than LDs.

MHO of course - every butt is different.

Holy billfold rape Batman! $45 for one pair??? OK, I'm not one of the cheapos that count my nickels and dimes but I'm thinking bicycle shorts have more value here. Please convince me otherwise. Try to sell me a pair!

Have you priced bicycling shorts lately?

The trick is to buy them on closeout at the end of the season. The ones that regularily go for $32 can be had for $15. Plus there are plenty of places selling bike shorts that compete with sales at any given time near me. We have an Rei, Gander, Target, Sportsmart and Dick's Sporting all within two miles. Somebody always has them on sale.

I've priced bicycle shorts lately. I do have a pair of $120 bike shorts, but it's Pear Izumi and I've only used those on LD bicycle rides (i.e San Francisco to Los Angeles). The Pear Izumi are a little thicker. I guess I could use em on the ST, but I've got several of the Performance $14.95-19.95 pairs that work just fine on LD motorcycle rides. The Performance are a little thinner and perfect for wearing under jeans or leather. Just remember, no underwear. Okay, call it strange, but they also have lotion called butt lube  ...or sumtin like that which really helps avoid chaffing for a nice long wonderful ride. :) If you do try it, you rub it into the shorts not on you.

I should confess that I ride with a pair of Performance Classic bicycling shorts...the padding makes the miles much easier the second half of the day. My point was that $44.00 for the LDComfort shorts isn't too terribly out of line given their high-tech hydrophobic/hydrophilic fabric is different than the lycra that my shorts is made out of.

I grew up in Aberdeen, WA, right next door to Hoquiam where LDComfort is located, so I figured I'd stop by next time I am in town and see the shorts in person.

Have to agree with Fred on this one, I've tried bicycle shorts, 2 different type from Aerostritch, and other various type underwear, and the only ones I can wear and not have a problem with is LD. I bought another pair in Seattle.....They can't be beat for long days. Cost is high, but they are worth every dollar they cost.

Bingo! I wore 'em eveyday on the ride back. I couldn't believe the comfort! Now I'm a big fat guy with a grumpy butt, and I would have to stop evey 70-80 miles due to it. With these shorts I was doing 100-150 rides and could've gone further if I didn't smoke. I also taught myself how to stand up on the pegs for a few seconds and that helped to.

I think I finally found the seat solution. Get a aftermarket seat of your choice and a couple pairs of these shorts and boom! Man! You're good for the day.

You paint a great picture. A big fat guy with a grumpy butt who smokes! With this description there was not need to actually attach a picture. :)

You wouldn't want to see it if I did Sam. And I'd probably get banned! Again! :D

This thread is PRICELESS without pictures!
