I have tried several of the "cheaper alternatives". On short trips, not a whole lot of difference. Once you start doing some extended riding, the LD shorts are worth what they cost. I don't leave home without them.
If you get a pair of the LDComfort Riding Shorts you will see where there is no comparrison to any other "motorcycle underwear". Once you really know the difference then you can get a second pair and never have to worry about it again. Done! There is a discount code for the ST-Owners forum. I think it might be in the vendor section. The code is still valid for shipping. Thanks so much for helping me fix the link in my signature.
Enjoy evey mile.
LOl, no comparison in prices either. Bike shorts working just fine for me.
PS, Yes, I do 1000 mile days.
Ever do two 1000 mile days?
Enjoy every mile. ??~
I use Under Armour compression shorts. They work well for me.
+1 (Heatgear)
I also use the compression shirts, long- and short sleeve. I really like them, and the cost is somewhat lower. If you hunt around, you can get a pair of UA shorts and UA upper for the same price as a pair of LD shorts. And yes, I use LD shorts also.
Ever do two 1000 mile days? In a row? How about 3 one thousand mile days....in a row? How about 12,000 miles in 11 days? How about 10,600 miles in less than a week? Yes, 10,636 miles in under 7 days with ONE pair of LDComfort Riding Shorts, with out so much as a blister. Never a thought about seating comfort. Yes, bicycle shorts are better than cotton tighty whities. Still...try to wash and dry them in five minutes and make them last for 200,000 miles. For the money, if you do the math you will find that mile for mile.....(I'll let you do the math.) Comfort counts for EVERY mile. But you know what? You gotta be happy and I think you are.
Enjoy every mile. ??~
I find that the non-cotton based compression shorts are significantly better for me, I stay much cooler and drier.

All I can say is that I love my LD Comfort shorts. No complaints at all.
