I just bought a nice used Russel Day Long Saddle with the leather inserts on top with the rectangle quilting pattern and vinyl sides! What leather conditioner do you guys recommend?

I use Fieblings Ausie paste. Works really well, waterproofs too. You can get it from Tandy leather online.

Tried countless applications of Lexol on my classic saab seats - never improved the flexibility of the rock hard leather, maybe just too far gone.

The leather is not hard. It is showing a few "veins" (not sure how else to describe it). It is still soft and there are no signs of it actually drying out or cracking at this point. I just want to be sure I protect it the best I can for longevity.

I have had really good results with Zaino conditioner as well as their cleaner. bought a used Mazda 626 and don't think they ever cleaned/conditioned that leather. Now its as supple as the day it was made.

+1 for Lexol on leather.

BUT - my RDL is vinyl: What do you guys use on a vinyl seat - that will condition it WITHOUT making it too slippery ??
Thanks.....

If I remember correctly this is what Russell recommended for my all leather seat.

But it might have been recommended by someone else. Anyway, its what I use on my leather and vinyl seats.

Looks good, but......
I went to order a small (8 oz) bottle to try,
It's $15 - plus $8.50 shipping - so one small bottle is $23.49.
At that price - No way,

edit: just found this on Ebay: 32oz with free shipping for $ 20. That's more like it....

Lexol has a vinyl version as well. It does make the seat a bit slippery for a few rides, but not a big deal.

I use it on all the gray plastic too.

If you have a reputable shoe repair shop in your area that makes or repairs leather boots, purses etc, go there for recommendation(s). My guess is that some of them also cover motorcycle seats. I have had a local auto upholstery shop recover a couple of my motorcycle seats, but don't recall ever asking the owner for care recommendations. Obviously, you don't want to use ArmorAll. I have also used Lexol cleaner and conditioner (two separate products) on my Pony's leather interior, but don't know if it's suitable for motorcycle seats or not. I assume the stock seat cover on my ST is vinyl, not leather(?)

Lexol Leather Conditioner is not slippery - once it's dry. It soaks into the leather. I use it on the Corbin leather seat I have on my 900 Custom.

I do leatherwork on the side and this is hands down the best conditioner and water proofer I've ever seen - bought a case of it to hand out to customers for their saddle bags - I use it on my hiking boots and have never had any reason to complain whatsoever - this was the handiest link I could find

Whatever you use make sure iot does NOT have any silicone in it - you will kill the leather - it needs to breath
