Lost oil filler cap

Hi Somone broke oil filler off when the bike was parked .
I ordered new one but in mean time any
Ideas what can use so keep riding.
It's one on right cylinder cover.
I can't see fell out by itself as part of it still
In the cover.thanks in advance

Like in the other thread, check car breakers for any Civic, CRV, or Accura's rotting and nick the oil filler cap there...

Could have be over-tightened, material contracting when cooling off, too much stress on the plastic...

Do you have any auto parts stores near your home?

In the USA, you can buy a cap for the above mentioned cars for $10 USD at any auto parts store and put it on the 1100 when you walk out the door. There are a half dozen within 5 miles of my house.

I think if the cap is overtightened, the plastic will give way between the threads and the top part of the cap drops off. Hard to fathom what someone bent on mischief would do with an oil fill cap (less threads) - or why he would target that part. Someone stole my clutch lever from my Triumph back in '70. That makes sense...he was parts shopping.

I went to local Auto parts for generic oil
Cap I thought was to big but didn't account
For the threaded piece still in there.
