Thank you @ST1100Y and @increasing for your suggestion about the timing belt. On a whim today, I looked to see if there were any new suggestions to this thread and I updated the file in post 1.

Thanks for this article. I sold my 1998 ST1100 in 2021, and I'm ashamed to say I've been off the forums ever since.
But... I have just got myself a 2009 ST1300A, and knew I needed to return to the best source of knowledge for these machines! The bike has full dealer service history from new, but this information will prove to be invaluable when I begin taking on maintenance and repair tasks myself! Thanks again!
