Marty Smith - RIP

AMA Hall of Famer and the first ever AMA 125cc National Motocross Champion Marty Smith and his wife, Nancy, have died in a dune buggy accident.

The Smiths were riding in the Imperial Sand Dunes Recreation Area (a.k.a. the Glamis Dunes) when the dune buggy they were driving rolled over.

Oh geez. That's sad. Saw Marty several times back when I was racing MX. Kid was fast! Eric battles between him and Hannah. RIP Mr & Mrs Smith

sad to hear, and surprising too. Don't most dune buggies have full roll cages, wonder how they were both killed in a rollover?

I read he was not wearing a harness and she was just wearing a lap belt

Oh wow. So sad to hear. I was a big Marty Smith fan when I was a kid . RIP
