Mellow's Summer Trip

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinks_Canyon_State_Park Pretty close to your planned route and I find it interesting.

I'd also suggest you drop that southeastern CO leg and make it about 20 miles south going across New Mexico. Go to Boise City- Kenton OK- ride NM 456 to NM 551 then turn north to Branson CO and over to Trinidad. NM456 is Dry Cimmaron Canyon scenic road and does have about 22 miles of gravel which I rode on the ST1300 just last month. It's a much much more scenic back road then the boring 160 across Colorado. The gravel is pretty tame as long as it's dry.

According to your trip plans...you must be out of the gate by now...will be different for you this year w/o your other trip-mates like last year...may you escape ALL the situations that might cause you more adventure than planned!...look forward to your posts when you can...:bow1::03biker:

Day 1 - G-Man and I made it to Lathrop State Park. 730 miles, great weather.
Met Kent Johnson at lunch and Rod House stopped by the campground.

Joe - I was wondering also. Should be able to see when you might get to Spring Green. Tent Site #1 is reserved for Wednesday night for those that are starting a day earlier if you make it then.

Day 2 - 700 ish miles. Southern CO, monument valley, moki dugway, stormy moab, and now at a koa in grand junction. Its still light out I probably could have gone farther, now Im bored, lol.

Ill post pics of where i placed the memorial later.

I could always pose a challenge for you...you know, so you feel like you're at home?

Cruiser58 is out and about to your northeast and complaining about the heat. How's the weather treating you?

The weather has been great, got down to 55 in CO and as high as 95 but just didn't feel hot at all. Lots of looming rain you can see in a distance. Rained a little on the dugway but opened up in Moab and completely dry by the time I was on the other end of town.

A few pics from Day 2
