Jackets Mesh summer jackets, need advise.

Read few discussions about poly/nylon mesh jackets melting during an accident. Some say it ain't so. You be the judge (take few minutes and read article). It is middle of summer, 90+ temperatures and I see lots of folks not wearing anything but t-shirts and no jacket at all. According to article below, poly/nylon are not so bad, check those after accident pictures and reports. Out of all brands including Olympia, JR, Icon to name a few, I prefer Firstgear. Had Olympia hi-vis jackets , well made but just could not take that bright yellow anymore, these things are bright. Have to be carefull how you handle them, they're like magnet to dirt. Did not like velcro closures straps at the collar (on all of them), kept on opening during riding, they should change them to snaps. As far as visibility, I like 3M reflective tape on the back and sleeves of jackets.

I have Tourmaster Sonora (Hi-Viz) w/Olypmia Airglide 3 pants. Wife has Olympia Airglide 3 jacket (Hi-Viz) and Airglide 3 pants in shipping. We both love 'em. Specially in this Texas heat!!! Think we do need to look at cooling vests???
 
While the Motoport mesh breaths well, just be aware that it is really really stiff. I have the mesh pants and had to put lowers on the ST because the pants were starting to severely scratch the fairing

That's one of the reasons I went with the "stretch mesh" on the pants. The "stiff" mesh jacket is still one of the most comfy jackets I've had, maybe because it was made to order.
 
My Motoport is running 6 y/o now, so it is broken in pretty good now... you can toss it in a dryer with a set of tennis shoes, run on air/fluff for a few hours to break it in/soften it up a bit.
