Helmets Modular Helmet failures?

today I tried on a Nolan N90 and it felt like it may be my new lid. Anybody else here have one?

I wonder if flips have improved in the last decade since that test ? And are any of those models even still being made ?

I just installed the pinlock (included with the lid) in my new N90 and I'm about to find out how it does on a 15 degree F ride.
Santa requested a price match for an online quote at $240 and Bob Lanphere's Beaverton Honda-Yamaha-Suzuki store made (her) the deal.
I'll report back in a few minutes:)

Well, it was actually 19 degrees.
Helmet was great.
Field of vision excellent-pinlock awesome-can't wait to get speakers installed and to put a bunch of miles on it.
Face did not get cold.

Absent any organization doing standardized tests on the chin bar, locking mechanism, and hinges, I don't think there's any way to know whether today's helmets are better than those older designs. My guess would be that some of today's flip-ups are definitely better, and some aren't. The amount of flex in the hinges, and the plastic latches on some of today's flip-ups, strikes me as pretty scary.

I was wearing a Lazer Revolution modular last April when my '03 ST had a rear tire blowout and I went down. I managed to get the bike onto the shoulder before the tire broke loose from the rim, and then jammed the rim, locking up and down i went. Did a face strike on the guardrail, helmet stayed closed, and was able to open with a little bit of muscle. This helmet is also available as a Bombardier product for snowmobiling.
