I just hate when I show up to work and that darn building is still standing...
Morning conversation policy: no coffee, no comment... :coffee:

G'Day...

19°/23°C, mostly cloudy, showers throughout the day likely, soggy at >70% RH... 🌦️🌧️ 🥵

Nespresso at ze GF's place... ☕

drive across the city in the trusty Toyota... 🚙

yep, stayed at her place due the cat sitting duties... 🐱
the feline has acclimated so far (been a year since her last stay), except relieving herself of a hairball in the basement during the night... nature taking its course...
so when I got up we had the usual ordeal of her playing 'foot trap' all the way down, voicing loud, pitiful, impatient complaints about 'haven't been fed for weeks!' (what a drama queen!)
while me cleaning out the bowl, till she FINALLY!!! got it placed in front of her, filled with a fresh bag of "cat soup" (yeah, that's a thing now...), she wolfed down like been starving for days...
Then, and only then was I finally permitted/able to a) empty my bladder and b) sip my well needed Nespresso... ;)
After I consumed the hot Joe, we both (feline and me) went back upstairs to kick ze GF out of da bed... 😁

irrigation system started without an issue, so that's off the list for now... 💦

traffic had a bit of a holdup at the usual, critical merging spots, lost like 15 minutes there, still 20 minutes early at the workplace... (I just can't seem to learn how to "always be late" like others... 🤔)
in the evening I'll stop at place to drop the trusty Toyota into the garage and change onto the ST... a necessity over the legalized robbery AKA 'parking fees for cars till 2200hrs' across the city, bikes are exempt...

now office, but my Nescafé is already empty again... :coffee::(

Monday... yuck... just 3 hours already cover my dose of an entire work week... 🙄

And some outlets already starting their Xmas sales... 😧

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the coffee, Martin.

It's 71°F and cloudy in Rockville, where a high around 87 is expected along with scattered light rain showers commencing around 1800 hours. And yet, the National Weather Service has issued this Areal Flood Wath advisory:

The combination of a slow moving frontal zone with a tropical air mass in place will increase the risk of flash flooding this afternoon and evening

What
Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

I'm not at all clear as to how "scattered light rain showers" equate to "excessive rainfall". Seems like one or the other could be possible but both? I don't see it.

Monday = Old Guy goof in the morning, then Old Guy Napping in the afternoon.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

Morning all, and thanks for the startup Martin.

Don't think of it as cat soup, think of it as the equivalent of cat coffee. That explains the frantic desire much better.

12C for the ride into work, sunny but cool. The ride home should be equally sunny but around 23.

Mrs O. wanted to get out on the bike after we cleaned up from Saturday's party, which we did. We decided to head toward the coast vs inland, hoping to find cooler temps, but the opposite occurred. The bike was reading 29 to 35 degrees, which was quite uncomfy. For the ride home we ended up just doing slab. The 110kph made a slight improvement with at least better airflow.

Hope everyone has a super day.

Obo.

Thanks a again, Martin.
I don't feed Roz' cats until 7am. And they NEVER pre-empt me starting my coffee. Coffee prep is Job #1.
Drinking the entire pot is Job #2.
Even tho it's really only 2 and 1/2 cups, in my mug. The water lines to measure on the side of the pot indicate 6 "cups", but thats a lie.
Saturday I cut the front yard with the new walk-behind mower, and yesterday the overgrown back yard jungle was similarly tamed.
Then back to the front for string trimming and touch-up.
Much more physical work, if you can call it that, than I've done in a while. I survived with no ill effects, but I did increase my H20 consumption.
And slept better than usual, although I seldom sleep "poorly." Keith handles that for me.
I'm sorry, man.
For this week, I reckon the task is to try to find someone to take away the old mower for free.
As I leave y'all for now, my music-and-lyrics-functioning brain jumps into action to find a suitable lyric for the destiny of the lawnmower, and I present you with the closing stanza from Jackson Browne's (I love his music, hate his politics) "The Late Show" (1974)...

You go and pack your sorrow, the trash man comes tomorrow
Leave it at the curb and we'll just roll away

(I would encourage you to hear the entire song, but I already told you I like his music.)

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee start, Martin.

It's 61 with some light rain, going to 67 with heavier rain this morning, then tapering off this afternoon.

Yesterday's plan for Brenda to mow while I trim the lawn took a turn, when she came into the house holding the garden tractor's drive belt. Since our belt was broken in half, it was easier to measure that we needed one that is 105". That led to an early adventure, trying to find another on a Sunday morning. Tractor Supply in Leicester and Auburn Home Depot came up snake eyes, but the other Tractor Supply in Millbury had one in stock.
It took some fitting around the numerous pulley's, but she was soon back to mowing. I never did get to the edging...

Later, we visited our local Chinese/Japanese restaurant for dinner.
More soccer and a little Sox, before bed.

Today, we'll meet with the other grandparents for lunch at a pizza place across from Olde Sturbridge Village.

Enjoy the day,
Steve

Welp, g'mornin' from SoMD! First sip of coffee is like a fresh breeze, blowing through the cranium where my brain should be. Thanks, Martin! 75F/24C and cloudy outside, climbing to 88F and talking up scattered storms this afternoon. Yup, we'll see.

It's not that I wasn't around this wknd, I was just, busy...you know, doing...nothing. Okay not quite nothing. Worked on lighting, met up with friends for dinner and local fireworks, and reffed a few volleyball matches. In a nutshell.

Now it's back to work and all those bright & shiny faces...ah, right I get to WFH today...even better!

@Sadlsor all you need to do is drag it out to the roadside with a sign that says "FREE" and it'll be gone before you turn back around. Toros have a good reputation and fetch good money even if you have to put a little into them. GL!

Take care y'all!

... all you need to do is drag it out to the roadside with a sign that says "FREE" and it'll be gone before you turn back around...
Nah, doesn't work... tried with my old fridge, no takers...

After taping a sign to it saying [€ 100,-]... the thing disappeared within 20 minutes... :shrug2:

Good Morning, Thanks Martin for coffee, much appreciated ( needed) . Has been a busy weekend but enjoyable. Had to survived a two hour power outage last night. Church potluck lunch, quality time with Son, who has been running the projector screen for a couple of weeks now. Took the long way home of course, waved at gang of Vespa riders about 10 in the group. Saturday, sleep in ,got home at 1 am from Birch Bay,
Wife had me doing some projects on the Trailer, hanging paintings, tightening the toilet seat, after dinner we went out to watch the fireworks that the local church had done.
Weather has been excellent all weekend, today will carry on with it , 62 F at 8 am with a high of 78 by 5 pm oh yeah Sunny all day. Today's agenda, Phone call appointment with the urologist, hopefully he calls when they say he will 8:50 am. Then blood work, and then then drop off a document at the landlords office, or in mechanic ride all over the place.
Okay time for a refill of COFFEE, stay healthy G

Morning all! Sunny and blue skies here, 13C now, high of 24C predicted. That's gone up 2C since I last checked the forecast. Not surprising, I walked outside to get on the bike this morning and was already sweating.

Managed to get two coats of stain on the front of the garage this weekend. The white looks sharp against the black roof trim, I think we made the choice...rather all the colours choice.

Watched the England v. Mexico game last night. What a wild ride. Mexico controlled the ball for most of the match but still ended coming up short. I give England full credit, playing a match like that in front of a hostile home crowd for Mexico can't have been easy. There's been some absolutely fantastic games, which is what you would hope from the World Cup. It'll be interesting to see what happens with Belgium's appeal about Balogun's red card suspension.

Hope everyone has a great day!

This has actually been documented.
Couple of refrigerators over here, too.
Perception of value... important to good marketing.
I think it's more a reflection on the neighborhood. We're not so hoity-toity around here I guess.

And for an update: I decided to return the El Cheapo Android Auto head unit I got from Walmart. It would not connect with the TPMS sensors, so back into the box it goes. I had until yesterday to decide to keep it, but pulled the plug on Friday. I have to drop it off at the store by the 11th. Buhbye.

Morning Martin & All from sunny, Southern Utah!

Currently @ 11AM, it is 86F, heading for 92F. The winds kicked up a a couple of hours ago, blowing in from the south @ 12mph. Later, they will be from the SW @ 17 to 31mph.

Church yesterday, and just relaxed the rest of the evening.

Today, I need to contact the gal from the hotel for WeSTOC 30, so I can meet with her and see what to do about everything, to do with the hotel. :unsure-2x:

Also, I have to scrape and paint the front door frame, just the lower 6".

Eggs, bacon, toast & OJ to start the morning. Pepsi(s) on schedule for later.

Anyone :dr13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:

An acquaintance of Mrs. Fun's is an artisinal blacksmith and sells his stuff at Ren Fairs, craft shows, and the like. Sales were slow until some other artisan told him to raise his prices by quite a bit. As soon as he did, sales picked up considerably.
