G'Day...

3°/15°C, a few clouds, haze, mostly sunny though... 🌤️
Don't get too comfy yet, they're predicting rain for Wednesday... 🌧️
Far worse: a drastic drop in temperature is approaching this week, thus snow warning for Thursday through Saturday... 🌨️
(we'd intended the ze GF attempts a "maiden ride" on her NT700VA zis Wochenende... apparently not... :cautious:)

home and office caffeinated... ☕

Monday morning and having to deal with bureaucrats... what a combo... 😑
These days the city demands a dozen documents and files filled out for any outdoor unit to be installed... pfffff...
Doesn't matter that there already 5 other units operated on that rooftop...
Those applications would be duty of the owner/operator of the kit... of course are they backing out of such...

So, another workweek is starting... lets see what it drags in... 🤔

Morning all and thanks Martin, for the startup.

Although, truth be known, the plows actually started me this morning. First pass was about 4:30, with a repeat performance just before 5am. Currently snowing and -4. The commute in wasn't bad and I likely should have snowblown before I left the house, but on a Monday morning it seemed like too much work.

It'll be a short workday as my aunt's funeral is at noon, with prior prayers at the funeral home at 11:15 before departing for the church.

Hope everyone has an excellent day!

Obo.

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the Magic Elixir of Reanimation, Martin.

It's 54°F, cloudy, and wet due to light rain that began an hour or two ago and which should tail off any minute now according to the Microsoft weather app. The temperature will hold about steady for much of the day then drop slowly into the middle 30s, starting around 1600 hours.

Assuming conditions allow it, I'm scheduled to play goof this morning, finishing well before the cool-off commences.

Yesterday's outing to Oriole Park at Camden Yards was good fun, although the Nationals got beaten 8-1. It was definitely a case of them losing; the O's took advantage of numerous poor pitch executions and hit three or four out of the park. The Nats also generously loaded the bases with Orioles on walks, then walked in two more tallies. One data point doesn't make a trend, and even the best mound staff have off days every now and again, but based on what I saw yesterday it's going to be another long, painful-to-watch, eminently forgettable year for Nationals fans.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

Good morning all!
Thanks for today’s start, Martin!

@Obo, my condolences!
Some Aunties can’t be replaced!

I’m in Tazewell, VA. If you look that up, you’ll see I’m in the middle of some fantastic roads for two wheeled travel!
It requires a certain skill level, as I’m sure they paved over a goat path through these ridges! The road I traveled in on, makes the road I grew up on seem like a warm up track!

Presently raining and 56F 14C I’ll be on the road about early afternoon! My destination is a community near Toledo, OH, for a meeting at Bubba’s Bar & Grill!
Enjoy your day!

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee start, Martin.

It's 33, rising to 34 in MA today.
It's raining, still, and we're told to expect light rain this morning and possible snow showers this afternoon.

Yesterday's car track event was wet! We had a number of spin-outs, and one unlucky soul ran right into a barrier on the front straight. We stopped for about a half-hour for clean-up and repairs to the barriers. No ambulances, so I guess the driver wasn't hurt, badly.

Today, I'll start out at the gym then address the handrail that I've been avoiding.

@Obo, condolences on your aunt's passing.

Enjoy the day,
Steve

Morning all, at least it is for the western hemisphere.
Wait... who decides which hemisphere is which? Whoever won the geography wars?
"Because we've always done it this way"? Does that count?
Reminds me of when I was a child, and sometimes heard, "Because I said so" as the (non-)answer to a question I had.
But y'all know me... I question EVERYthing, even myself. ESPECIALLY myself.
Before I wreck the train again,... thanks for the coffee Martin.
I had told myself when I opened the forum this morning, that I wouldn't get long-winded, and that I wouldn't drag everyone on a pointless snipe hunt, but I almost have.
OK, recap... at Lowe's I found a couple substitute rubber donuts for the toilet tank junction, and an aftermarket "universal" string trimmer head that just might work.
Installed neither yesterday, but did have an extended lunch with extended family after great-nephew christening event.
And I was mistaken, it was not at the pomp-and-circumstamce church I mentioned Saturday morning, but at a Presbyterian church. The sermon was quite good actually, and there wasn't any "pastor says this, and everyone else reads that" responsiveness that I don't care for. It seems too programmatical and stilted to me, but remember - I'm the stubborn one who questions everything.
Or at least most things.
Time to go to work now - after the coffee refill - and I can now say I nearly successfully quelled my rambling wordy penchant this morning. If not the wordy part, at least the rambling part.
Before you argue, you must know I had intended to correct myself for misidentifying the church (I was wrong about where the christening would be), and report on the family lunch afterwards.
Besides that, I knew @Obo would probably be interested in the status of my new broken things around the house, and might offer me some guidance about the matter. 😁
Sunny, dry, warm today... but not hot. Likely mid-70s.
That works.
We ride!

Good Morning, thanks Martin. Froze overnight,34 F with Partly Clear Skies, Sun rise just happened, rather pretty. Today's agenda is to relax, spent the weekend riding each day, yesterday noticed backside was getting sore, after two hours, even with taking a break. Have a good day what ever you are doing today, G

G'mornin' from SoMD! The last of the rain has pushed through here, leaving us wet, cloudy, and 63F/17C. Still a few scattered showers possible, but unlikely. Not much happening here, just WFH and sipping coffee to keep my wit about me (can't afford more than one wit), thanks Martin!

@Obo you won't see this until too late but my condolences for your late aunt.
@Whisker Bill you're riding the spine of the Appalachians, looks lovely and should be beautiful with flowering trees and spring blooms. Watch those shaded slick spots!

Yesterday was a rainless washout for me. I had "grand" plans to get things done, but a nagging headache kept me from doing anything where it was too bright or scentsy...the Princesses were disappointed they didn't get a walk in, sorry pups. So, I concentrated efforts on hunting/gathering parts for garage projects, and once it subsided to the point I could concentrate on other things, I got a few steps forward in the garage on a snowthrower I snagged for $40, and a few steps back. I've got time though...we usually only have big snowfalls once every few years (knock on wood).

Welp, I'd better close this out. Take care y'all!

Morning Martin & All from sunny, Southern Utah!

Currently it is 60F, up from 38F and heading for 77F. No breeze yet, but later the winds will be out of the WSW @ 17 to 25mph.

Obo, sorry to hear about your aunt. RIP!

We got word late last night that our son got home safely to Kalispell MT. It was almost 900 miles and it took him from 7:15 AM to 11 PM. Long day of driving!

Today is all about tonight's dinner/discussion. So Chris will be stressed the entire day. And I'll be jumping from one fire to another, to try to keep her from loosing it!

Eggs, bacon, toast & OJ to start the morning. Pepsi(s) to the rescue later.

Anyone :dr13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:

Wait... who decides which hemisphere is which?

The British, French, Spanish, and Dutch. Mostly the British. Do you think it's any coincidence that the 0° meridian passes directly through the Royal Observatory in Greenwich England, and that GMT is the "neutral" time standard throughout the world?

It's all to do with who was doing the exploring, and where, and when, and how much.
