Goof starts the day, as usual for a summer Monday. After that, who knows?

It's 61°F and ND partly cloudy now in Rockville. 81 and sunny are expected later.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

17 and heavy fog for the ride into work. Have a craving for pea soup for lunch. Should see 24 and clouds for the ride home, with maybe some showers.

It's Monday, and we all know what that means. Well. maybe we don't, but it's not the weekend.

Thanks Keith. I had a late night, due to an unexpected call from my contacting company, to replace a Whataburger network switch, about 150 miles away.
There was another call to replace a monitor, the same distance in the opposite direction.
The second call was diverted to another tech., because I couldn't do both.
The calls came in at quarter till two in the afternoon.
Got home at 11pm.
Well (changing directions here, hold tight), after learning my lesson (or more accurately, being reminded of what I already knew) about letting vehicles sit too long without running, I figured I'd probably have to replace the battery in my ST1300.
Sometimes I just hate it when I'm right.
3.87 volts when I checked it, before church yesterday. Installed October 2023.
Darn. I'll have to pay another stupid tax.
Called and found a battery, their last one, and told them to hold it for me until I can get there after church.
At 1:30, I was about to connect it to the ST, when the two calls came in.
Battery was not replaced.
That's now on the list for this afternoon.
Funny thing about the WAB visit... the manager was a young Hispanic girl, and when I asked if the store had a ladder (the switch is in a network rack, eight feet off the ground), she said No.
That's weird, I thought. ALL the stores have s ladder.
So I asked if she had a folding step stool, and she said No.
I can't levitate, y'know?
I'm gonna need some height-adjustment device to replace that switch.
So I asked again, There's NO ladder in the store?
She replied, No, we have no lighter.
What?!
No, I need a LADDER! (Bold, underlined, and Italicized.)
She looked confused, so I pointed up to the network rack above the desk in the office and I said, I need to get up there.
Then she said, Oh. I call it "stairs."
Sheesh.
She took me to where the ladder was stored, and I finished in about 90 minutes.
Wonder how she runs that store... all the kids working, spoke English.

Significantly overcast (it rained yesterday and last night) and 59F here, hopefully heading to partly cloudy and 77F later.

I spent the weekend visiting in Maine so today will likely entail laundry and a trip to the market to restock the larder.

Sometime this morning the "concrete guy" should show up and by 11:00 start pouring the garage apron, walkway and patio. This will complete everything in the garage build except for door installation. It seems the doors are coming by slow transport snail so it could be another 2-3 weeks of (impatient) waiting.

Over the last week I noticed something unsettling around me ..... a goodly number of maples and oaks are fading from dark green to those rusty reds and oranges of (gulp) fall. It seems like only last week I was waiting for the leaves to arrive!

Oh well, be careful, be safe, and enjoy the season you are in.

Son in law is getting his phd degree on Wednesday, following a party, etc.

Oh by the way... bike's digital thermometer showed 100 (that's ONE HUNDRED!) degrees in Fahrenheits at least twice during the ride to Opelika (near Auburn, AL) but I wasn't interested in stopping to pull over and take pictures of it.
Feels even hotter, with no airflow.
Not the first time I saw it at that reading, over the last few weeks.
But that's ok. I had a frozen bottle of water in a pannier pocket.
Remember, I am the one always telling you I like it 🔥 hot.
But I will confess, 70s and 80s feel a bit better, for longer rides.

It's a beautiful, sunny morning with a cloudless sky and a comfortable temperature of 18°C/64°F. Temps will remain comfortable today, with a high of 21°C/70°F and a feels-like of 23°C/73°F. Sounds just about perfect, except for the fact that another system of rain and thunderstorms will be moving back in a little later. The drops should start falling about 3 pm, let up for a few hours at around 6 and ramp back up at 10-ish. There will be no let-up after that until tomorrow.

@STooRay: Congrats to your son-in-law on getting his PhD, well done!

Good morning, folks. Thank Keith, for starting up the cafe. Here is 60F earlier this morning; by noon, it will hit 80F and be a sunny day! I been busy all weekend loading up my enclosed trailer and my 58 truck. Friday, I'll go get a trailer going down to Georgia; hopefully everything will be alright on a 17-hour trip. That's the news y'all

It's 59,rising to 93 in Oregon today, under partly sunny skies.

Brenda's phone went off at 6:00am this morning, around the time my bladder was complaining. After emptying it , one of our son's cats worked her way into the bedroom as I tried for a little more sleep.
I eventually went out to give Brenda the chance for a little more sleep.
I found our grandson in the living room , playing on his tablet. At 6:00am.
The two chaos cats knocked over a shoe box , and are chasing it around the floor . ..
Coffee helps .

Yesterday we got out for a hike in one of the states many nature areas, then back home, after a late lunch at Panara Bread.

Today , we'll pack , and head to the airport and our home tonight. Brenda has already checked us in, so we're assured of B-group boarding. Exit row seating for more legroom , and I don't need to count the number of rows to the emergency exit.

Morning Keith & All from mixed clouds & Sun in Southern Utah!

Currently it is 75F, going to 90F. More threats of Thunderstorms, but like most of them, they'll probably miss us. We'll see! :well1: No breeze yet, but later the winds should be out of the SW @ 14 to 17mph.

Stu, Congrats on the SIL's PhD!

Somewhere's, this last week, Chris picked up a nail in the left rear tire. So today I get to figure out how I'm going to get it fixed. I've got three options...
A) Take it to a local tire place and have them fix it.
B) Put her spare on and drive the Highlander down to ST George Costco for them to fix.
C) Take the tire off, put it in the back of my truck and then go with option A or B.

With WeSTOC, within three weeks now, I still need to think of a few more things to do before it gets here.

Once Chris wakes up, we'll get some breakfast. And of course, there will be Pepsi(s) in our future!

Morning all! Sunny and blue skies again here. We had a bit o' rain here over the weekend in the form of thunderstorms. Streets were flooded in Vancouver. We didn't get that much, just enough to help the parched plants a bit. Currently 15C with a predicted high of 24C.

Working from home today as we have a house full of relatives. I know what you're thinking; wouldn't that be a good reason to go to the office. However, that escape hatch was well and truly bolted shut the CEO. There is also the small matter of the appraiser showing up today.

Stu, congratulations to the son in law. You can google various alternate meanings of Ph.D. for giggles. I think my favourite is either Pound Head on Desk or Probably Heavy in Debt.
