Monday eve coffee and weather, 14 June

Good morning everyone

There's Waypoint dark roast by Compass in the pot once again today. This batch is freshly-brewed, not leftover from yesterday, so you should enjoy it.

It's a delightful 66°F in Rockville on this day before Monday, but will climb to 90 or higher by late afternoon. There's a better than 50/50 chance of showers between 2000 and 0000 hours.

It's Flag Day in the U.S. so I'll hang mine on the porch for all to see.

It's also the day for my once-a-month uke jam with another area group so that's where I'll be from around 1200 to around 1600. Before that I'll do a run-through or three of the tunes we'll be playing, as a warm-up.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

Good morning and thanks for the coffee, Keith.

It's partly cloudy and 67 in Plattsburgh this morning, rising to 74 with a chance of thunder storms, later.

We had another good day, visiting, and our niece's family added to the mix , when they arrived. They made good use of the campgrounds pool, and we all hung out at Jamie and Rob's rig.

Today, we'll head back for breakfast and more visiting.
We'll head out for home at some point, so we can sleep in our own beds, again.

Good morning, all, and thanks, once again, for the fresh pot, Keith! Much obliged!

Today's forecast isn't particularly pleasant...and is even a little ominous. It's much cooler today with a high of 20°C/68°F, and we're being "treated" to very heavy rain for at least the next six hours. It will fall more lightly after that, but will keep falling, nonetheless. We're also being warned of the "possibility of rotating storms" in a swath through the St. Lawrence Valley, which includes Montreal and surrounding area. "Rotating storms" always sends a bit of a chill up my spine. Hopefully, they won't materialize. Anyhoo, we get to enjoy a waterlogged Sunday, so indoor activities will prevail. More watercolour practice, perhaps!

Morning, folks, and thanks, Keith.
Last night the church worship team was treated to dinner by an appreciative friend, and we ate at a Mexican restaurant I've never been to (only ridden by it. )
Best streak burrito I've had in a long while. We're told by my boss the key signs of a great Mexican restaurant are 3 things:
1. Chips
2. Salsa
3. Guacamole
Hard to argue.
And all were superb, hinting at the good food to follow.
Meanwhile, Roz' pain block (NOT "passion" block, like this phone misappropriated 2 mornings ago), we're told, may not take effect for up to 10 days. She's having a hard time just walking around, or even getting in her little Civic.
And as I've had my first cup now, i have to get to church and run the video.
So, ... bye for now.

Will be another warm day / afternoon here on the lower mainland will get out for another ride on the ST early Sunday is usually a little tamer in the tri cities
Got out for lunch and a short ride yesterday took the offer to ride a new 2026 GSXR 750 turns out it's the same model and
from the same place where one hung one over one traffic light one hour after purchase, or so the story the goes
I had a little better experience; I didn't do that, but we got stuck in some traffic and managed to get a chance to monitor the cut in and cut out points of the cooling fan [or fans]
Have to say I was impressed still break in period so couldn't take it over 5k but nice smooth power and lots of torque down low [plus I think it's only 425 lbs]

Apparently this is a long running - not changed much - close to basic circa early 2000s Inline four / water cooled / chain / non linked / non ABS
Non drive by wire [which is the make or break for me - not having a bike with that ever]
Also maybe one of the last bikes not requiring a romantic and costlyrelationship with the manufacturer; no periodic software updates resets and all of that
Minimal display - substantially all I could make out without touching anything was analogue [looking at least] tach / engine temp and digital speed at the right side [perfect!]
For some reason didn't feel as cramped as the CBR 600 I rode ten years ago but crunchier than the Blackbird.

Good morning, everyone. Thanks for the Waypoint coffee, Keith. Now I have direction for today’s events.

70 and patchy dark clouds. I suppose the clouds are necessary, since it’s predicted to rain most of the day. Not quite as hot, with the temp only reaching 82.

I believe the first task of the day is moving the mole trap. I can see that it tripped overnight. One down, dozens to go.
