We should all start like old time explorers:
"Dearest friend, the dark brew has been consumed.
The perils of this day are many, but I have survived thus far."... :coffee:

<YAAAHHHHWNNNnnnn...!> G'Day... or not...

4°/8°C, overcast, grayish, ghastly, looking like downpour any second...

Yesterday (Sunday) we'd that damn DLST changeover...
Thus its darn early over here... 🥱
Everyone is in a bad mood and short fused... even my computer here is acting up...
I wonder if the increased failure and accident numbers in workplaces and traffic are really worth that humbug...
Its Easter Holiday week over here, so traffic a little less dense, people still erratic...

As usual I got already ambushed out on the lot while attempting to exit my car...
Serves me right, why do I show up early... idiot...
should do like other office drones: notoriously appearing +10 minutes late... e.v.e.r.y. day... 😖

And the issue with the wrong, overcharged (thus banned by the municipal inspector) outdoor unit is still unsolved...
Me prepping design layout documents on it... :devilish:

Alright have a nice Moanday...

Thx and good morrow Martin!

Got up faaar to early.
We had a nice dinner yesterday, until MIL ruined it (as always) by insulting my daughter, and by general misbehavin.
Mrs Stu tries to excuse her because of her age, but she’s been like that always. Pffffft!
She needs to be silenced.
Volunteers please line up here.

Today is a walk to the library, and some cooking.

7˚c/45f, overcast, showers, 10mph breeze from south west.

Have a good one, and breath!
Stu

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the coffee, Martin.

It's a tolerable 54°F even though the 8 mph SSW breeze makes it feel like just 46. Mostly cloudy with a chance of light rain showers between 1000 and 1300 hours, high of 72 is expected.

I'll find out, presently, whether my brother and SIL made it through the security process at Phoenix and actually got on the plane to come visit us for the week, or if they bailed out and gave up. I may have mentioned previously that they were originally scheduled to visit early last November but rescheduled due to the TSA situation during the last government shutdown. It cost them several hundred dollars to make the change; how ironic that in the end that move gained them absolutely nothing. Groundhog Day is already over, right?

ASSUMING they make it, that means I've got an airport pickup run to make this afternoon, and the return from IAD will give them a glimpse of the oft-publicized DC Beltway rush hour traffic. At least the road construction that was present for the past three years has completed and all lanes are open with no distractions on the shoulders or beyond.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee start, Martin. I've added a blueberry streusel muffin to the mix.
Good luck on solving your AC issue. IMO, the boss should be the one to fix it, since he apparently broke it.

It's 39 and sunny (once the sun rises) in MA rising to 61 with some clouds later.

Yesterday's Flag and Corner marshall school went off ok, but I think I'll pass on that next year. To me, it was a rehash of previous year's training.
When I arrived home, I napped a bit, then we dined out at one of the restaurants in our rotation.

I got the worker schedule last night, and I'm on the schedule, until my prostte surgery later in the month. It's starting to feel like I'm going to need to specify WHICH surgery...

Today, I'll hang out again, and wait for the orthopedic follow-up.

@STooRay, it could be worse. M-I-L could be living with you as mine did for 4-ish years...

Enjoy the day,
Steve

Must be a Monday around the Coffee Cafe, o hope the coffee isn't as sour as the life events so far.
Good news over here.
In the garage I have a 4ft steel bar hanging from chains booked to the rafters, holding a couple hundred pounds of riding gear and my outdoor, cold weather coats.
So let's call it about 7 or 8 riding jackets, and 4 pairs riding pants included in all that. So it's all on hangers and it is crowded.
In the mix I have a fantastic, 20 year old leather Hein Gericke matching jacket and pants that I haven't worn in maybe half a dozen years.
I pulled out another jacket hanging next to it, and was shocked and dismayed to find white mold covering the leather, like someone had dumped confectioners sugar all over both pieces.
Took both outside in the sunshine, and carefully cleaned it all up with saddle soap, and then detailed every inch with Lexol leather cleaner / conditioner.
2 hours later, it looks like new and ready to wear again.
Good news too, having not worn the jacket in several years... it still fits.
It was a pain cleaning it, but it was well worth it and I'm very happy.
Guys, I hope your day improves.
A helpful reminder: You don't need to change your body to fit into clothes; clothes are meant to fit onto you.

Good morning, everyone. Thanks for the coffee, Martin.

I’m gonna ruin the current mood by saying that I’m happy as a clam this morning. Birds are chirping, squirrels are playing, and Teddy is smiling, as always. It seems that I can’t remember if there’s anything I need to do today, or not. No traffic, since I’m not going anywhere. No in-laws. No out-laws. I’m enjoying my new coffee maker. Biscuits are almost done. Life is good.

G'dafternoon y'all! It was a dreary morning with some pockets of light rain. But now the sun is out and it's 71F/22C. I am safely caffeinated, thank you Martin!

It's a thankfully quiet day as I WFH. Yesterday's debacle pickin gup the juke box was, well, it was done. Despite me suggesting all four of us to meet in one place before going to pick it up, everyone ended up in different places; I where I suggested, another who made an initial but out-of-the-way suggest, a third who just went to the seller's house, and Grumpy-pants who just decided to go where he wanted like a child and demanded someone come get him. Once we got there, my job as cat-herder was done. It was heavy, rusted on the bottom, and worth almost what he paid for it, all of $55 after the seller felt sorry for our ramshackled operation and gave $20 back.

Took Princess #1 back to the vet as she's still not herself. Fever, lethargic, one swollen lymph node, won't eat dry food. So, she's on rimadyl and antibiotics along with some *chachingg* blood work. Ugh. Otherwise, if i can cut away from work stuff long enough I hope to get some work done on the car.

I can relate to ornery MILs as I've already reported on my last visits with her. Some days I wonder why I waste so much money just to be near such a sad person. But she's family, so I go, I smile, I cook, and I fix stuff for her. And try to not let her insults and racial bad-mouthing make me tear into her...again. But I digress....

Let's see what I can get done. Take care y'all!

Quite late to the coffe counter, having had coffee at McDs this morning with the retired gang, then coffee again with one of the college kids going thru relationship adventures 🤔.
I will finish off the last of it Martin, thank you. It sounds like quite the weekend was had by some, sorry for the trials and tribulations at the hands of those who should be the source of encouragemment.
Today, just half an hour ago, my front tire was dropped off by FedEx. Weather isnt as accommodating as it was a week ago, so it may be a few days till I strap it down for the 2 hour ride to my buddy's house for the install. Ne'rtheless, will soon be squared away for a season of miles and smiles. Nice evenin to all...
