There's one iconic spot to get a picture of your bike on Hwy 163 through Monument Valley and that is the spot where Forrest Gump stopped running. There is no marker of that, at least there wasn't in 2014, but there is a large gravelled section off the right side of the road, as seen in my picture heading southward. Beautiful scenery!

And, that is now a speed trap. It dropps from 55 (?) to 30 there.

Are you serious?!
Straight empty highway for (looks like) fifteen miles, and drivers are forced to toodle and plod around at 30mph?!
Some county's coffers must need topping up. That's absurd.

There is a marker now, a huge marker and a state highways sign commemorating the end of Forrest's run. The place is now formally named "Forrest Gump Hill".

Mt. Evans's name was changed to Mt. Blue Sky and you need a reservation to go up. I was just up at Echo Lake today and there was a line of cars waiting to get in.

You better go get another picture. In the movie he didn't stop on the curve of a road.

Oh look at my avatar pic taken in 2009!

That explains the 30 mph zone then. The sign has brought tourists to a location that was relatively unknown previously.
