Looking for a quality engine technician to do some work on my ’06 1300.
Anybody know of a good shop in southwestern Ontario?

Although it may be a bit far away for you, based on personal experience with maintenance on multiple Honda’s ( including my 2002 ST1100 & my current 2008 ST1300) over the past 30 years, I highly recommend Twin Season Recreation (www.tsrltd.com) in Georgetown.Everything goes through the owner and main mechanic, Denny. Highly respected mechanic in the area.

Your profile says you’re in Kawartha Lakes, so wouldn’t South Eastern/Centrsl Ontario be a better choice?

What needs to be done?
 
I use Stratford cycle. I take my Tupperware off myself and save some labour charges. Overall I have been happy with their service

I can echo Robert's suggestion of Platinum Powersports.
Donald and his crew are top notch, they all own multiple bikes. Donald is also a race day technician at several of the races around Ontario.
