It's been on my 1300 since two weeks after I brought it home, let's call it 4 years? Maybe 6?
The advantage of using a name brand like Powerlet, is they don't suck the battery.
With Amazon / Chinesiums, I suppose that's a real possibility.

I used a trailer plug direct to the battery. Double the wires will handle anything reasonable the battery can handle. Anything I want to run (like a battery tender or cellphone charger) I can go to any parts store or Wallyworld and pick up another pig tail, splice it, and plug it in. Even had to jump start the bike one time after I left the key on. I did hook the trailer side to the battery so I wouldn't be tempted to plug in a trailer.

I went with the accessory line that Honda wired the bike with for two reasons 1 has a 5 amp fuse and 2 it is switched off with the key.
