Hiya all!

My Helm is a Torc T14 with Bluetooth built in. I had the helm for about 15 months or so now and Ive noticed its becoming increasingly louder. I like my Torc, it was my first real motorcycle helmet and having built in Bluetooth is pretty awesome. The speakers are decently loud, It can last me the entire week on a charge playing music for about 90 minutes a day. One of the only drawbacks is the liner / padding cannot be removed due to the way the mic is installed thru it. The Mic on mine is great at the moment, so good that no one can even tell when i am riding even at 80+ MPH.

Anywho! Over the last few months I have noticed a increase in wind noise. Thankfully its winter so this allows me to use neck protection such as my riding jackets built in gaiter thingy, A scarf and on colder mornings a full on Balaclava. None of these help dull the wind noise, and the Balaclava somehow increases it to an almost unbearable level. With income tax time fast approaching i am looking for a replacement on my helm, Any suggestions on what I should get? If possible preinstalled Bluetooth would be a major plus. Ive listened to a lot of Fortnine's reviews and have some good options but was wondering what others are using and y'alls experience!

Thanks in advanced!

Primary determination is fit. Find a retailer and see what fits best. As I understand, all manufacturers build their helmets to pass DOT (and Snell as appropriate) tests. Paying more money won't get you a safer helmet, but it will generally get you more features and higher quality. I wore a Shoei full face and then Shoei Multitec modular for many years and just replaced it with an HJC IS-Max II. I felt it was equivalent in safety and nearly as good in quality, for 1/3 the cost. For me, I wanted a modular with a drop down sun shield, plus room for speakers.

I don't like helmets with built-in (pre-installed) comm systems... when you have to replace the helmet, you can't move the system to the new one, or if the comm system craps out, you're out of luck. Much better off IMO buying an add-on Sena or Cardo that can be replaced/repaired or moved to another helmet as necessary. Also, all helmets will be noisy in direct wind, thus I ALWAYS wear earplugs, and I can still hear my comm system. Good luck with your search and post up what you end up getting.

Thanks, I'm shopping for a new lid and got my Multitec on clearance and I don't know if I will find another. Gives me somewhere to start.
And I agree on being able to move your gear from lid to lid,

Same with me... got my Multitec for $300 on clearance and the new Neotec II is now $700. Got my IS-Max II for about $200. :)

I don't mind spending on good quality, but I don't buy the old adage that more money = better protection in MC helmets.
