New Member - Looking For An ST Purchase

Hello, and welcome to our forum.

There is a "Bikes for Sale" section of the forum, here is a direct link: Bikes for Sale.

The general consensus of ST owners is that you buy based on condition and service history, and completely disregard mileage. If a ST has been well maintained, mileage is just not relevant to the purchase decision. I have a 18 year old ST 1100 that has 125,000 miles on it (bought it new), it is as reliable as the 7 year old ST 1300 I have that has half the miles.

I do encourage you to search for one that has ABS - it only has to function once during the life of your ownership to make it worthwhile.

Welcome to the forum! Glad you appreciate the red ones are best!! Good luck with your quest - they do come up for sale quite often on this site.

I've still got my '07 ST1300A. 60+k miles and number of accessories that I would be willing to part with. Right now, I just keep it as a back up bike in case something else goes down. It's a Honda - once the insurance and registration is completed, check the tires and oil and hit the road. The only thing that has ever let me down on that bike was a battery and tire issues.

I see you live in Sturbridge. Spent my summers in Wales and grew up in Wilbraham but I'll never live in MA again, ever.

Welcome from WA STate!

Actually not Sturbridge ! It's Stockbridge and I moved here back in '65 from Springfield. My grampy used to train race horses back in the days of the Fair Circuit .His Stable was in Wilbraham .I wish I knew where in Wilbraham but I was pretty young fella back then.

Welcome to the forum!

Good luck on your search...:bk13: :dr13: :bl13::hat3:

Just curious, but what yrs. did Honda offer the ST in red. I believe '05 & '08 but any other yrs. ??

There are two listed in San Antonio by a dealer
An 09 and an 05 Abs
I have ridden both and seriously considers buying the 05
28 k miles and I know they have some wiggle room on the price(no I am not affiliated with the dealer in anyway)
The 09 has lower miles but it is not ABS

I know it's difficult to be patient when you're hunting for an ST what with summer right around the corner.
Let us know what you decide.
