Your comment about "bulls" reminded me of going through Yellowstone.

The situation here is the herd decided to cross the road. Two young males decided that was where they were going to practice challenging each other. The traffic was stopped for about half an hour till what seemed like Mom came by and told them to quit playing around and cross the road.

There was another road where I was chased by a buffalo. I didn't have time to take any pictures, but the memory is as fresh now as when it happened.

drrod's pretty cow picture got me thinking of all the times I've seen cows doing the same thing in the fall. It's not something you see here in NH. On more than one occassion we have litterally been swallowed up by cows coming from the opposite direction. The cow herders tell us to turn off the bikes, sit still and just them brush up against us as they saunter on by.

The pictures below don't show it but the big downside to these unique cow sighting adventures is the mess they leave behind on the road. On more than one occassion we have gone over a road after a large herd and ended up hosing our bikes and ourselves off at the hotel.

These two pictures show the tail end of a huge herd of cows coming down into the town of Solden Austria. It was a town festival. We were stopped for approx 45 minutes. The 2nd picture shows a small portion of the large number of bikers backed up by the cows on this sunny weekend day. This was another mucho cow pie experience.
