New to me, ST1300 2008

welcome from a Brit living in Portugal and it looks great.....are there some sort of retractable "cruiser style" foot rests on that/those tip-over bumper fenders?....Any product names?...Cheers !
 
Mine's an 08 too. Just got back from a 5200+ mile ride. You're going to love it!

They are commonly referred to as highway pegs. The ones pictured in the first post, and below, were made by a company called MCL (Motorcycle Larry). Larry, who was a member of this forum, passed away and the company is no longer operating.

Another option for ST1300 highway pegs is a company called PSR but they seem to only do very sporadic production runs of these if at all anymore.

Awesome bike RJG1300, I know you are going to enjoy that. It's like brand new with 15k on it.
 
I dropped my ST 1300 with the engine off in a parking lot when I stupidly tried to deploy the center stand while I was still straddling the bike's saddle rather than use the center stand while I was dismounted on the bikes left side.

I managed to pick it up, solo,but it wasn't easy.

@peterz lives in your neck of the woods. Perhaps you two will get acquainted personally, if you're lucky.

I dropped my ST the very first time I rode it (sharp uphill slope making right turn at stop sign + inexperienced rider = oops). The engine guards did their thing, and I later added saddlebag guards which also were eventually beneficial.
