Just bought a 1995 ST1100 but wasn’t knowledgeable enough to test the charging system and the Seller had to have known but said nothing. So here I am, prepping to upgrade to the 40 amp. Gratitude to those before me who have done the heavy lifting to clear a Path for me.
I can order the alternator from Walmart, and the base plate from EBay. But I’m confused about the Shaft. Did someone take the existing shaft and had it machined to 1996 specs or was a whole new shaft machined to the 1996 specs? Any and all input is appreciated.
