Old Enough To Remember?

There is no greater modern betrayal than a "quick" software update that completely changes the layout of an app you finally figured out how to use.

My laptop said I had a BIOS update and asked to do it now. Of course I said yes. It "bricked" the laptop.

And it is seldom quick ... ;)

It took a month to get that laptop back.

The next day, the computer told me that I needed to install a BIOS update. Like a fool, I clicked "yes".

Six weeks later...

Indeed...
Like the Tecra in my den/home office...
used only seldomly now, I pop into there like every 2~3 months for some "quick task" like printing one page...
Right... after +2 hrs on sucking various updates, restarts and cleanup of temp files I finally have my document... every time... 😑

And muscle memory is the worst...
They've changed/added one(!) tab in the supply and merchandise management program I've to build our offers/quotations in here at the office...
By now I must have unintentionally clicked/opened that dreaded tab about a thousand times... ARGHHHHH!!! 🤬
