I wear an armored "Sliders All Weather Mesh Jacket" here in Florida YEAR ROUND. The jacket serves me well, but after four years the HI VIS NEON YELLOW had faded to the point that It was either buy a new jacket of the same color or, do something about it. I came up with the crazy idea that I could paint it. To this end, with my crafted wife's help, I bought some "Americana Neon Yellow Paint and mixed it with the same brand "FABRIC MEDIUM" at the prescribed ratio of two parts paint to one part "Fabric Medium". I mixed it in small batches ( tablespoon, or so" and applied it with cheap brushes of two different sizes ( smaller for cutting in around the black portions of the jacket) and larger for the totally yellow portions of the jacket. I worked the paint slowly to keep from clogging the mesh pores and viola, an almost NEW JACKET at the total cost of about ten bucks. I wetted a towel and tried to scrip the paint off and it held up perfectly. I have "Sliders" Hi Vis Gloves and the paint job on the jacket matches exactly.
Bottom line, if you want to nave your HI VIS JACKET, this is a viable way to save some bucks that can be used for whatever.
