Parrot SK4000, Bluetooth Hands-Free Motorcycle Kit

I'm still not sold on this idea. My Autocom is always ready to go and all I have to do is plug in 1 cable. That cable to me, is no big deal.
But as my father always said, "Just like the man that kissed the cow, everyone to his own liking"

Sorry for the bad misleading info I posted.
I posted results on how I tested my Q2, not actual specs.

Specs:
Talk time: up to 8 hours
Standby time: 10 days
Radio On time: typical 8-10 hours

That means if you use like I did, with radio on 100% and frequent talking, then around 9 hours use before we charge again.

If you do not use FM radio much, then you can talk 100% constant for up to 8 hours, or random talking for days, since it automatically goes to and from standby. For comparison, these are specs about twice as long as most cell phones, so if you have a cell phone that lasts days between charges, this will last longer than your cell phone between charges.

One advantage we found with wireless was, wife forgot something so ran back into the house while I was still on the bike. I could still talk to her perfectly, so also had her grab a snack for me that I had forgotten.

I have been waiting to see the SK4000 from the time that I have read about it. I have call Parrot to find out when will the system be released for sale. I was told about mid September of this year. From what I have heard, all Parrot products work very well. If anyone buys one soon, please give us a report on the system.

Thanks

Still nothing on the Parrot....? Now thinking about Scala with FM and buying a small FM broadcaster to listen to music...even if not in stereo, the phone call features on the Chatterbox are wanting.

The Parrot looks/seems pretty cool, that big controllor on the helmet seems a little TOO big, but.....

My Scala Rider Q2 is nice, costs less than the Parrot, has intercom, but the FM quality is mono, picks up good though, I can listen to GPS on the FM as well as XM too......

If the Scala had an audio input feature and stereo it would be AWESOME.........

if the Parrot had intercom it would be AWESOME..............

maybe next year?

Ok, I'm gonna get flamed here I know, but... I don't see where it says it can pair with another unit for talking to passenger or other bikes. Should I AssUMe it's for solos only or can anybody confirm it has headset to headset intercom? They seem to be very careful NOT to even hint at that.

Intercom? What's the difference? You can't buy them in the U.S. anyway...maybe on ebay, but I'd like to buy from a local dealer if possible...

Any word?

My son and I bought the Q2 Multisets and they have an audio input, supposedly for MP3 input or any other wired audio input. Problem is the audio input is not controlled by the Q2's audio volume control, only by the input device. I tried it with 3 different MP3's and the volume was way too low. I think they need work on that feature.

I still like the Q2 for Bluetooth from my phone, intercom bike to bike (1600 ft range) and I tune the built in FM receiver to the output of my Sirius satellite radio. The Parrott sounds interesting, but if it doesn't have bike to bike, I wouldn't buy it.

Ok, just received my Parrot. Will let you know how it works....big time snow right now, so maybe no on road test, but at least I will be able to let you know about the features....road test in late december at the latest, as I'm renting a bike in Florida...

Rider 14...

Any news? Does it actually work as intercom while still pairing to gps/cell phone/etc?

We finally got the Parrot SK4000's in stock after months of waiting, Not tested yet but we will have a review from a customer next week.
On the bright side they look pretty cool.

I'm on the fence and waiting for a review. Any word?

I canceled my order. When it came right down to it I have no desire to talk on the phone when I am riding.

I had a mobile phone when they were still glamorized Ship-to-Shore radios, I have had a computer in my house since they were still mainframes made by Wang. I even had one of the very first Newtons before Apple shipped them for resell.

I enjoy/need the disconnect time.

Nothing against the product itself.

My Cardo system uses a similiar mike setup and it works fine. The stem looks thin enough to bend up and under the lip of the helmet and mount if front of your mouth. The Cardo is a 2 units intercom with bluetooth but won't do an Ipod about 170.00
