Very interesting. I have love the transitions shield on my Klim and previous Shoei helmets a lot but they are pricey to replace, they are pinlock ready but that also means buying a pin lock.

This looks like a possibly nice affordable option for almost any helmet.

Looks cheap enough to try, doesn't look like a pinlock, so I gather you stick it on? Another question, if you notice your transition glasses don't work inside a car as UV light won't pass through glass..... how does this one tint, or is it simply a plain tint?

FYI, transition shields available for Shoei's on AliExpress, I have one, tints up quickly to what I would call a light or medium smoke.... cheap too. Check the shield number stamped on it by the upper corner so you can match that up... then order.

Lexan does not block uv light, but polycarbonate does. Not sure which is used in mc visors. Welding helmets usually use an outer polycarbonate layer (in the visor area) to protect the user from uv.

How fast does it clear up again?
Wearing prescription glasses I now started to rely strongly on the internal sun visor of my Neotec's...
Takes not even a second to flick up with the slider on the left when entering a tunnel or the home base garage...
Same effort it takes to lift your shield.

The advantage of the drop shields is they are usually very dark. The photochromic ones are typically medium dark. That hasn't been an issue that I thought it might be.

Having used photo chromatic eyeglasses years back when they first became commercially viable (Photo Gray/Photo Sun/Photo Gray and Sun II) I've long given up on them. Even newer formulations just don't change fast enough for me to be comfortable with. Even with conditioning.

The Neotec Steve Canyon visor was the slickest thing since... I can't even think of a good enough applicable metaphor. On/Off right NOW. LOVE it.

I won't own a helmet without a drop down visor now. It's so effective that on one ride that raising it made me think I left my sunglasses back at a restaurant. I told this to the lead puppy in our trio via Senas. He said "YOU'RE WEARING THEM". Checking my mirror – he was of course right. I dropped my visor and all was right with the world.

If they work for someone – great. That's not me.
