In search of a Pirate's Lair passenger backrest for a new-to-me 2006 ST1300, or something similar. My wife likes to have something behind her but the Givi Top Case that came with the bike has a minimal pad, which is too high, and moves too much.

I built a copy of a Pirate's Lair, and used it for a few years, until wife decided she no longer wanted to ride. PM me for pictures if you did not already get one.

Thanks guys. I went with Dave’s Grasshopper, which just arrived this afternoon.

I too am looking for a passenger backrest. Did you like the Grasshopper? They are much more affordable than most, but I noticed not as tall plus I get nervous buying the cheapest version of anything. But, if it works who cares?

We (my wife) hasn’t had a chance to try out the Grasshopper yet. Maybe next weekend. It is well made & simple to attach. It will probably be fine for her. It is awfully short though, so using it to stabilize luggage will be limited. Too short for the larger T-Bag weekender that I use on the Harley, but I think it will work with a lower-profile roll bag that I have used for short trips.
