Hi, I have a limited number of take-off Gold Wing Crash Bars which have been powder coated flat black. They look great on the ST. (see pics)

$87/pair + 13.60 CONUS shipping.

They can be fitted to the ST with an adapter kit which I also sell for $48 (plus $7.15 CONUS shipping). If you buy both you just pay the higher shipping, so $148.60 buys you a complete set of crash bars, much cheaper than the competition (two of whom are all out of bars last time I checked).

Just a heads-up: if anybody is thinking about getting a set of these soon, get it now, last day I can ship is Friday June 16 and then I am out of country on business until Jun. 26.

No part of the bar-touches the bags right? Looks close in your pic. Is the flat-blk. lie a 'crinkle-paint' finish?

Re: Powder Coated Flat Black Gold Wing Crash Bars $87 + shipping (fits ST1300 w/ adap

It does touch the bag, just barely at one spot, on the left side. You have to twist the bar as far forward as you can as you tighten it to maximize the clearance on that side (I got mine on by myself but I could see it would help to have one man twist, the other tighten). It's a little harder to get bag on than before but once on it does not interfere with anything. On the right side there is clearance galore, nothing touches there. It's a flat black finish but not crinkle paint.

These will not fit the 1100, correct?

Re: Powder Coated Flat Black Gold Wing Crash Bars $87 + shipping (fits ST1300 w/ adap

I don't believe so, they are custom for st1300

These are still available.

Here's an update on my GW Crash Bar installation... love 'em. Took the brackets to a local metal polisher and had them polished to a mirror chrome finish. They look great.

Nice, wow, didn't know you could shine 'em up like that. How much did he charge you?

BTW, I am down to the last two sets of powder coated bars. I also have one black set off a F6, with a couple of tiny touchups on the end. Would sell those for $75 + shipping (Get the adapter kit and these F6 bars for total of $136 shipped CONUS, payment by paypal friends and family.) I suspect I may not do more powder coated bars for a while. Plenty of adapter kits available still. Check out Catmandu's story about how these work, real life crash test (glad it all worked out, Cat!):

Re: Powder Coated Flat Black Gold Wing Crash Bars $87 + shipping (fits ST1300 w/ adap

I came into a batch of take off chrome GL1800 bars in good shape and am still weighing whether to powdercoat or not. In the meantime I have chrome bars available, if anybody wants these with the adapter kits the total would be $99 shipped CONUS, paypal friends and family.

I also have one black set off a F6B, with a couple of touchups on the end. Would sell those for $75 + shipping (Get the adapter kit and these F6 bars for total of $136 shipped CONUS, payment by paypal friends and family.)

I am currently sold out of the powdercoated bars.

G'day Martin, A friend here in AuSTralia Shiney aka Dave posted a link to here in OzSTOC after getting crashbars and the adapter from you. Do you have any available and do you remember how much poSTage was to him. I live juST outside Sydney in Picton NSW. I have an 08 ST1300 and a 98 ST1100. Do the F6B ones also suit the ST1300? my email is johnny1uc@yahoo.com

Answered this question privately but for anyone else who is wondering yes the F6B bars work with the adapters as well if you can find some. I have a pair available for $65 (see my other thread for pix).

Re: Powder Coated Flat Black Gold Wing Crash Bars $87 + shipping (fits ST1300 w/ adap

I now have a few more black powder-coated sets of crash bars in hand. Same price as before: $87 for bars and $48 for adapter kits plus 13.60 priority mail shipping. (Total is $148.60 shipped). I also still have a set of black F6B bars for $65. They look almost the same as the p-coat but have some touchups on the ends.

Just one caveat about the powdercoated bars: on occasion when I have assembled these as the bolts and nuts compress the bars there can be light flaking right around the attachment area. I just touch it up with a bit of black paint. Otherwise, on my bike I'm six months and 6000 miles into it and they look just as good as when I bolted them on.

I just got my tip over bars installed. I am very pleased with them. I waited a couple weeks because it has been so cold here (down to zero and a lot of time in single digits) that I was afraid to crank too hard removing the 4 mounting bolts. But after a few days of temps in the 40s and 50s, and the help of a blow dryer to warm things up a bit,,

, all 4 bolts came out and the rest was easy. image.jpeg
Now hopefully I will never need them!

Great to hear they worked out, they look great! I have a few more powder coated sets of bars on hand for $87 and chrome ones for $67, adapter kits/hardware for $48 (all prices plus shipping).

Upgraded adapter plates and new product : high polish plates

Hi everyone, the second run of these adapter plates is in. There is better material, machining, and attention to detail. I am not increasing the price on this forum in spite of the higher material/labor costs, so the new ones are still $48 with all hardware. I also have a limited number of high polish plates for an additional $20 ($68). These look great with chrome bars (also on hand. I have chrome bars for $67 and black powdercoat bars for $87. All prices plus shipping, paypal friends and family payment.

Hiya Red dirt cowboy,

A question from the Netherlands; do you still make and sell this adapter kit and black crash bars?

Best Regards
Hans
