Finns are the world's leading coffee consumers...
4~5 cups a day, makes about a bathtub full per person and year...
and I'm still messing along with cups... pfffff... :coffee:

G'Day...

1°/14°C, definitely colder, still clear skies and sunny for the entire day... ☀️

home and office coffee... essential... ☕
(and thankfully am I fully independent with my private supply...
in their infinite ignorance the office folks have forgotten to order coffee beans for the machine in the break room... 😁)

the disadvantage of (finally) getting used to that DLST, is to wake up (too) early and start mulling over various things... 🥱
including how the firing of a few billion neurons can create a few million thoughts... :cautious:
interestingly are you just about to finally doze off again, when promptly that darn alarm goes off... 😴

However, Thursday, the week is almost over... 😎

Good morning, all. Thanks, Martin.

The dog get me up around 1:00 AM, barking his fool head off. The motion detector light in the yard was on, so I let him out to investigate. He bristled up, and took off towards the woods, but stopped at the tree line and barked for a couple of minutes, waking up a couple of neighbor’s dogs before coming back in the house. Coyotes? Maybe, or might just be an armadillo. Anyway, I was wide awake and had to fix a cup of coffee before I could get back to sleep.

Now, I’m awake again and having a second cup, listening to the birds wake up.

54/76 and sunny. Can’t complain.

The movers got my piano delivered to my grandson yesterday morning.

Morning all!

-5 and clear, headed to +5 and sunny.

Almost bike weather. Well, OK it is bike weather, but the roads are still coated in grit, especially the intersections, turns, and on/off ramps. Patience, they say, is a virtue. I say, it's annoying.

Enjoy the day.

Obo.

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee start, Martin.

It's 26 and sunny, rising to 56, later.

Yesterday played out as planned, with a trip to the gym and eventual set-up of the spare room's TV with the new Firestick.
Brenda is annoyed that I'm caughing and clearing my throat these past few days, so having another place to go is a good thing.
I also got a notification from the MRI place to book with them, so I did, and will have that done on 20-Apr.

Today, I may head back to the gym to see what core exercises I can accomplish.
I never got a call from the foot dr, and will check online at least for info on the DVT test

Other than that, I've got no plans.

Enjoy the day,
Steve

Good morning all!
Thanks for today’s start, Martin.
Well, you lot have been busy getting things done!
Me, I’m putting off removing Miss Judy’s things as it’s still her place! (in my mind)
Well, I’m headed to coffee, I’ll fret about this later on today!
Enjoy your day!

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the coffee, Martin.

It's 28°F in Lansdale PA and partly cloudy. We'll leave here around 1000 hours and return to Rockville, where it'll top out around 61. I'll unload the trailer and return it it UHaul then be done for the day.

What's worse than an out-of-tune piano? An organ that goes flat in the middle of a piece.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

G'morning, all. Coffee, you say? Thanks, don't mind if I do.

We had a cool-down with some snow flurries over the last few days, but whatever snow fell is already gone. Doesn't stick around very long now, the end is nigh. Looks like today will feature much warmer temps and glorious sunshine...at least until later this afternoon, when the wind will pick up and clouds will move in. Forecast says rain into the early hours, but only 40% chance. The current temp is 3°C/37°F with a feels-like of -1°C/30°F and the high will be a very pleasant indeed 15°C/59°F. Works for me.

There seems to be a lot of wildlife activity in our little enclave this spring. Our resident mallard and his mate are back and happily splashing around in the duck pond; their nest is probably along the banks of the creek than runs through our little nature preserve. One of the peregrine falcons that live at the airport occasionally comes and perches in the sunburst (honey locust) tree just beyond my balcony to peer in at me, and as I was returning home from a grocery run the other day, a mink bounded across the road in front of me and disappeared into the preserve - also probably lives along the creek. Haven't heard many spring bird calls yet (still mostly just the house sparrows that are here year-round), but that will change soon.

@ibike2havefun: Glad to hear it's all "done and dusted," as it were...at least for now. These things are sent to test us!

Right, gotta go, I hear another cup of coffee beckoning. Everybody have a good one, stay safe and go safely.

Patty

Morning all.
Not much going on here, but we'll have sunny, dry temps just a little higher than John in Nashville.
The most notable thing I did yesterday was just cook some simple salmon in the air fryer... but doggone if it wasn't as good as any I've ever paid for in a restaurant.
Just teriyaki sauce, olive oil, garlic salt and onion salt then pepper, cover it completely in that simple mixture, 13 minutes at 375° with no flip.
It came out dark on top due to the teriyaki, but perfectly moist and tender all the way through, and perfect texture. Later I considered that I might have drizzled a little honey on top before cooking, but it was just delightful and delectable all at the same time.
Nice to know i can occasionally do something right.
Small wins, you know.
So yeah. In case you suspected my life can be boring, here's your confirmation.
"Sometimes I try to act normal, but then I get bored & so I just go back to being ME!"

Very similar to our recipe:

Maple syrup, olive oil, salt, lemon pepper. Wrap / cover with foil, bake at 425. 8 minutes in, remove foil to let the top brown then continue baking for 5 to 8 minutes more.

Make the mashed potatoes during baking.
