Good morning everyone

Thanks for the coffee, Martin.

No rain here: it's 52°F and clear in Rockville, with another beautiful day in store. The high will be around 82- several degrees warmer than yesterday and about ten lower than the forecast for Friday and Saturday.

After taking my sister in law car shopping yesterday (I was there purely for moral support) I finally took myself out for a 30 mile bicycle ride, along roads long familiar to me and much loved. It was a splendid afternoon, and I'm pleased to be much less sore than I thought might be the case. One ride doesn't make a training base, though, so I'll have to keep at it diligently for the next several weeks.

Not much else of note to report.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

Temp All time high this year with 19˚c/66f, but rain kinda spoils it a bit, calm for now, 30mph from south later.

Been out in said rain and chopped the old deck (siberian larch, not oiled or anything artificial..) into a pile of 30cm firewood. Will keep us alive a week at least when winter comes…

A bit of daytime tv ahead, please don’t tell anyone.

Morning all! Thanks Martin for getting us started.

8C and overcast for the ride in. The angry skies looked like rain, but didn't. It's supposed to switch to sunny, and go up to 18, but they've been wrong all week with the forecast, so we'll just wait and see I guess.

On the home front, I got my 3 new trailer trailer tires mounted on the 12" rims. Some tire lube and 3 tire irons and some persuasion did the trick. In some ways they were easier than the MC tires I've done in the past, but in other ways they were more difficult. I think being 12" there's not as much flex & stretch in there as a 17 or 18" MC tire. Tonight I'll check to ensure they are still holding pressure, and figure out how to put them on my static balancer, which only has small cones for a MC axle.

As even on my full grown tire machine (DIL's) 15" scooter wheels are significantly harder to work with, I'd agree...

Today is our first rain-free day in a week, so Kaiser gets to come to work with me again.
For the first time in a week.
Sunday (?) night I made an excellent pot roast in the crock pot, well it would have been excellent if I'd remembered to add cracked pepper, but I forgot. Without the pepper cooking in to blend the flavor, it was merely very good. Had some leftover for lunch yesterday at work and it tasted even better than when first cooked.
I filled the pot to the top with the usual carrots, baby taters, celery and marinated steak cut into bite-sized pieces. Was gonna add bell peppers but just ran out of room, which may be why I forgot the black pepper... I was caught by surprise that it filled up so quickly.
Not that the pepper would not fit, only that I didn't expect to run out of room.
Roz has been complaining of hip and leg pain, so after a half dozen doctor visits and no help, she had an MRI last week and they found her L3 and L4 vertebrae have bulging disks.
This morning I'll go with her to see what treatment they suggest, but the doc said surgery is not likely and not required.
A good friend of ours has had a miserable time recovering from spinal surgery, in fact he actually hasn't recovered and is in worse shape than before his surgery -- which was in October.
I've injured my back to some small extent, in the past, but just muscular, and it will sure change your life when you can barely move.
I guess our back helps to hold all the rest of us together.
It's so weird to not see any clouds in the sky, after this past week. It's been almost nothing but.
Y'all can go back to your coffee and breakfast now, and I wish everyone a good day, and a pain free one.
Remember to watch your back.
EFIT: I am a little disappointed that I needed help with SSDD yesterday. I forgot that I knew that.

The first one I took off was a PITA, and I ended up cutting it off as the 2nd bead just didn't want to co-operate coming off the rim.
The tire might be biased plied, but the bead had metal stranded wire in it. I thought biased were fully nylon. Now I know.
After doing all three, I think the painted steel rim for the spare is slightly wider than than the two other chromed ones.

Is that because you went too hard with the tire irons...?
As an aside... I didn't mention I put fresh garlic and onion in the crock pot, too. I'm forgetting a lot, it seems.

Well I did remove a lot of the powder coated paint finish, so much so that I repainted the rim. I did plan to repaint the rim anyway as it was OEM white, and starting to rust a bit. It's now a dark grey metallic. I only marked it up a bit getting the new radial tire on.

The tire swap was two three fold: I wore out the two main biased tires last year on the Newfoundland trip, the spare was past it's due date, and I wanted tires rated for over 100kph, which meant switching from biased to radials in slightly larger dimensions, but still keeping the 12" rims.

It's 52 and sunny in MA this morning, rising to 82, with more sun forecast.

Yesterday, I made my return to the gym for some light upper body work. I'm not supposed to do heavy lifting, so I dialed it way back. I'm hoping to visit again today.
While Brenda mowed the lawn. I did the oil and filters on the Tacoma. No center stand , but rusty bolts on the skid pan, made the job harder than necessary.
The WooSox game was a great time to catch up with Brenda's former work friends, and they actually won at the last minute.

Today , I'll have a final visit from the traveling PT lady, and try for another gym visit. I also need to find some rubbing compound for my self-inflicted scuffs to the Wing's side case.

I put in 12 hours yesterday, getting ready for my RTE coming up this weekend. I shopped, mowed, laundryed, and pressure washed, but I’m happy to say that I made it through all of that and still have 1 or 2 places that don’t hurt.

Good Morning, thanks Martin. Cloudy with wet stuff, maybe. 61 F high 69 . I'm sore this morning as well installed a 11×4 inch tire on the mower deck on the big Jacobson machine. Toughest tire I've ever done. Had to get help from a mechanic friend to get it done. Today's agenda nothing requiring coordination and strength. Well Y'all have a good day G
 
Morning all! Grey and overcast with the possibility of rain. I did get hit with a couple drops on the ride down into work but so far, that's been it. 13C now, 19C later.

Sadlsor, sorry to hear about Roz but good that surgery isn't required. I've read far too many case files where people needed to have vertebrae fused which helps for a while but ultimately causes issues with the vertebrae above and below the fusion.

All this talk is wheely good but I'm a bit tired of it now. Yeah.....not my best work.....
