Wanted RED Front Fender for 1996 ST1100 ABS II

Hello. I hope everyone is enjoying the spring weather.

During a recent trip from SoCal to Ohio, I encountered some gritty tar underneath and on the side of the front fender of the ST1100A. I suspect, the rough roads or seams in construction zones cracked the fender and eventually fractured it to a point to sever it from the mounts. To my surprise, I parked the ST1100A and was shocked to learn of a missing front fender. The fasteners and fender mounting tabs or ears remain in place. I did not hear or see anything that could have cause the damage.... or whenever I lost the front fender.

Therefore, I need a red front fender for an ABS model. Please note the front fender of the ABS model and the front fender of the standard model are not interchangeable. The ABS model has two pieces and I need the larger front portion. I am unsure

Nope - they have the 'standard' fender AFAIK.
Finding an ABSII red ST1100 front fender is like seeking the Lost Dutchman Mine.
I have 2 red ABSIIs and finally ended up buying a front fender from Europe and painting it.
It is a 2 stage paint (not counting the clear coat) which is a real pain to get the color correct even with Colorite paint.
The big issue is that overseas never got that red color (R158P) so there is no supply over there to pick from (which is a bigger ST1100 market).
I've lost two front halves that way so I fabbed a bracket to go across the top to hold it in place if the tabs break.
Then I put longer bolts with lock washers in the side bolts.

AS mentioned, the ABSII front half part of the fender only came on '96 and up ABSII bikes. I very seriously doubt you'll find one , in good enough shape, to put on your bike. I see a painter in your future. $$$ Sorry.

Good evening. Thank you very much for your replies.

IIRC, I have a black ABS II front fender in San Diego that I inadvertently purchased for a 'rescue' (standard). Sure will miss the matching red.... Actually, I am delivering the '96 to my brother. Anyhow, it is nice to learn other's have experienced this issue.

Perhaps we can organize a group painting of red body panels in the future<g>.
