So I was in KS at a rest area putting my tank bag back on and happened to have the key to my Givi in my hand still. You can see where this is going...

Of course the key dropped on the tank and fell somewhere into the tupperware never to be seen again like anything that is dropped up there.

Luckily I had a spare with me. Do you have to got through Givi to get a replacement key?

A couple of years ago I stopped at a local locksmith and he was able to duplicate my key. Although he did have to play with it a bit to operate smoothly.

Maybe I'll give the local hardware store a shot. I've had good luck going through Givi before for replacement parts so I'll probably see how much they get for a new key or lockset if I can't get one made locally.

Fred. I had problems getting a blank to get cut. Givi sell the lock barrel and 2 keys at a reasonable cost, 20 minutes and its replaced. Save yourself the hassle I had and go for this option.

I just called Givi today and they sell key blanks for $8--then just bring it to anybody that makes keys. I ordered one.

Funny, I had my airbox out today and and there was the key on top of the rubber flap, under the throttle bodies. Now I have to send it to the new owner of my Givi.:
