G'day All,

Does anyone own a Rev'it Sirocco jacket?

Rev'it apparel has finally made it to Oz. I've been eyeing the Sirocco jacket which looks like a very versatile 3 season touring jacket.

Any feedback on this jacket would be appreciated, in particular, how well does it ventilate behind the ST's fairing? Also, what temperature range do you find this jacket most suitable for? Any other pros and cons please.

Thanks in advance.

Tony

Yes, I have one. I've had it for one full summer season here in (very) hot Texas. I think in this region perhaps it should be thought of as a 2 season (spring and fall) jacket as it's a bit much when the temp exceeds 100 deg. F and it's not quite enough when the temp drops below about 55 deg. F.

But, there are things one can do at both extremes that do help. When it's hot, the Sirocco has matching (left side and right side) chest armor pads that can be removed. Removing them dramatically improves air flow in the upper body region. When it's cold, one can put the armor pieces back and then use any available Revit thermal liner (the one from my Cayenne Pro jacket works really nicely) for a very significant improvement in warmth.

Revit build quality is outstanding pretty much across the board and this jacket is no exception. This is a really well made piece of gear. As you may already know, Revit sizing is tricky. That's the politically correct way of saying that "Revit sizing is wacky." If you can try the jacket on prior to purchase, be sure to do so. If you can't do that, then order one Revit size larger than you would normally wear. Everything I've owned from Revit is sized for a much smaller person than me but if I go at least "one size larger" Revit gear tends to fit me nicely.

On balance, it's an excellent jacket and I do recommend it highly. It is the jacket I reach for first every time I go for a ride, temperature permitting.

Thanks for the detailed reply mate. It sounds like it's just what I'm after.
