So, what happens on your free day when you intent to catch up on some sleep?
Of course, you'll wake up right before 6AM... pfffff...

And then you're in that weird zone where you just can't get back to sleep because you've to pee,
but feeling just way too comfortable in bed to get up yet... double-pfffff...

Anyhoo, double Nespresso it is...

Used the being up early time to raid the food-store right after 0800...
Ignored the stares of bystanders over backing the trusty Toyota into the parking spot like a pro...
Dealt with the deposit machine ejecting the bottles back at me, convinced it to accept them all at the end...
And of course I got the one cart with the dodgy wheel...
But if you push that fast enough, the rumble has the benefit of scaring the smombies out of the way...
At the cashier the standard questionnaire:
"... got our bonus-card?..."
"... nah! can't afford that..."

Back home, threw all into the fridge and figured I earned myself another

Feet up, some TV, maybe some laundry later...

Yesterdays shrimpfiesta never happened.
I should have known….there’s been too much wind for the trawlers.
Mrs Stu made a very good soup instead.
And we had a bottle of spanish wine, a bit disappointing taste…

Peter is coming over in a bit.
Later we’re going for a beach walk.

Not shure what’s for dinner, but I’ll try some french wine today.
And I found a can of (unopened) christmas beer when I moved the ST in the garage yesterday….
Guess I had a pretty silly smile in that moment…

Today I'm following Martin. Just out of habit, woke up before 6, ... thought WTH! I'm not going to the office today!
Haven't made coffee, because I'm not convinced I won't go back to bed. But then even if i do, 4 cats will descend from upstairs, yeowling to be fed... well, really only the 2 youngest ones, while the quieter, older 2 will jump up on the counter and perch, while they stare at me like they are Jedi knights... "You will feed us NOW. We do not have to wait until 7am."
So maybe I'll just snooze on the couch for 30 minutes.
And hope Kaiser's big self will deter the smaller critters from coming to jump on my chest.
YAWN.
Hope all your snow has melted.

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee start, Martin.
There's got to be some ISO standard for shopping cart wheels, since the wobbly one is common, worldwide...

It's 41 and cloudy in MA this morning, and the clouds will continue as the temperature rises to 47.
We may see some sun, but we're also told of the possibility of rain showers as well.
It gets better, with snow showers expected tonight.

I'm so glad I pulled the Wing out of the shed, yesterday!
I needed to put the thing on it's center stand, but my arthritic knee wouldn't cooperate.

I also measured and cut my handrail, and gave it a first coat of polyurethane. I'll sand and give it a second coat today.
I found that my studfinder had a discharged and leaky 9V battery, so I had to clean up the terminals and buy a new battery. I'll try to locate the studs at some point, today, and install the railing brackets.

Today's plan is to chill at home. I'll do whatever painting I need to, and maybe try for a walk or gym visit.

It's 50°F and brightly sunny in Rockville. Mostly sunny with a high around 64 is predicted.

I'm not feeling at all energetic or ambitious today. I don't think I'll even make a pretense of going to the gym. What will I do? I have no idea, but it likely won't be very strenuous.

+1 here and a snow / rain mix. Very dark and dreary. Headed downward to -4. It might clear, it might snow more. No matter. Come July we'll likely be complaining about the heat and bugs.

Today will likely be a home task day (which really could be home task month or two...) with 3 manageable goal tasks in mind. I'll start them.. eventually.

Good morning all, thanks for the coffee Martin. It has been entirely too long since I have checked in with you, my apologies. Wx here in NE Ore is a cool 50° and damp, topping off at 55 and sunny.

Funny how life can drift from time to time. Lots going on over the past year: kids, grands and great-grands. Mom turned 90 last Fall and we have made several trips to central Cal to make sure we dont let time slip away with her. I got volunteered for a few oversight boards, which also keeps me going and then there is golf, which i have recently picked up again.

The weather has been unseasonably nice, so I moved the bike from behind the house, under the carport, rode it through the alley and parked out front. Added air to the tires, checked it over, gave it a bath, topped the tank and went for a short 70 mile shake-down.

Then, I pulled out my mileage log to record the beginning mileage for the season and was immediately SHAMED. I beg your forgiveness brothers and sisters, for I was stunned to see that my total miles for 2025 was... 630 miles.
I have no words.
This season will be a year of repentance for letting Mollie sit.
I do hope all are well, and I intend to be more consistent dropping in. All my best,

Howdy y'all from SoMD! It was the wife's first horse show of the year, so of course everything was hectic getting her out the door. Then feeding the herd before I followed her in my own car. Made some breakfast egg and bacon sandwiches to have afterwards. I had my coffee all nice and ready...and left it on the counter. I did my best to keep distance from all other human beings, and thankfully nobody was injured in my state of grumpacity. Thanks for covering me, Martin!

Warm, sunny, and expected to be humid, already 70F/21C. Really need to dry out some so I can mow. Need to get groceries and then some garage/lawn work.

There is, but it's to ensure at least ONE wheel wobbles.

I bet I can beat that ignominous record. Lets see... First fill up in 2025 was at 41088 in March. last was in October at 41883. Huh, 995 miles. Welp, nm. You win... Err, lose.

its a kicking horse start for me watching the unfolding events on one of the US channels - gas hovering around $4.00 a gallon I think that works out around 1.05 US / litre
Vancouver got up around 2.14 yesterday and dropped a bit
the weather is nice again today will get out again before the rain and the dreaded on call - I can take the gas, but Im getting too old for the on call

Morning Martin & All, from sunny, Southern Utah!

Currently it is 73F, up from 38F and heading for 81F. A slight breeze now, but later the winds will be out of the SW @ 20 to 25mph.

Mileage? Ha! Since Covid ended my commuting, I have been getting little riding in compared to what I used to do. Last year was the most riding I've done since. And I got 6,262 miles. Once I get this yard done, I'll be able to jump on the bikes a little more. And I still have the AZ05 to finish up!

I was able to get most of the hole I dug up for the irrigation water, filled in. And like always, I came up with another task to finish that up. By spreading more gravel in the back!

But, today and until Monday, I'll be under Chris's demands, to get things around the house done. We have about 11 people (not totally sure of the numbers) coming for dinner and a discussion on Joseph, who was sold into Egypt.

Scrambled eggs, bacon, toast & OJ to start the morning. Pepsi(s) on the list for later.

Yes, but of all the things in that list, coffee emerges as the one and only non-negotiable.
Maybe @ST1100Y will back me on this.
I'll stand on that till the day I die... likely due to having no coffee.
