A step-by-step guide to having a good day:

1. coffee... :coffee:

IMG_20260521_080215.jpg

the lifeline, Sanitäter, Rettungsboot, Fallschirm of the hotel we've been at...
providing any freshly made hot cuppa imaginable... ☕ 😎

G'Day...

14°/27°C, not a cloud in sight... ☀️

Slurping my 2nd Nespresso, might get a 3rd... :coffee:
ze GF still snoring upstairs... 😴

the 4 days out riding were time well spent...
Wednesday ze GF choose to be TB on the ST, showing no issues with a more ambitious style and leaning angles... 😎
Also found out that the pillion section of the Top Sellerie seat is excellent...
The gel insert option paid off really well, the recess is perfectly shaped, no sliding around during braking and acceleration,
lowering any legwork efforts required to keep her position to a minimum...
The still limited movement of the bolted hip joint is an issue while climbing up and down though...
Thankfully she's a slim gurl, no problems holding the bike while she's performing her 'gymnastics'... which might take a while... ;)

Yesterday transfer to ze GF's place, hitting the garden center, two bags lawn soil, grass seeds, etc...
filling up the trench aside the resurfaced concrete pathway, leveling, activating the robo mower, running the irrigation system, relaxing in the deck chairs...

today not much planned except picking up the trusty Toyota from a friend's shop, MOT/annual inspection passed with flying colors, new summer tires on, etc...

long weekend, Monday is also off... Pentecost... 😎

Thx Martin, nice coffee machine!
Probably has a warp drive too…

Me too is happy with my Topsellerie saddle, very comfy with the inlets.

13˚c/55f, 15mph breeze from south, showers.

A walk in a bit.
A birthday party for a nephew (19) in the afternoon .

No riding weather……pfffffft!

Have a good one!
Stu

Always wear enough caps….

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the coffee, Martin, and I'm glad there were no incidents on your trip.

@STooRay Peter looks like a very happy child! It's good he has such a special rapport with you- he'll cherish that for his entire life.

not a cloud in sight... ☀️

That's because they're all over here, maybe. It's 49°F and continues drizzly and wet, just as the prognosticators have been saying it would. It now appears per the forecast that the general wetting will continue off and on (with more emphasis on "ON" than "off") until sometime late Wednesday afternoon. Mostly it'll be just light misty drizzle, I think, but tomorrow the rain may be somewhat heavier. The high today will be just 52, and we won't see 70 again until Wednesday, so everything's likely to start growing moss.

Various of Mrs. Fun's relatives arrive today for the Memorial Day weekend, in particular so they can attend the commemorations at Arlington National Cemetery tomorrow morning, where Mrs. Fun is scheduled to speak. I ought to attend, both out of respect for those who gave their lives in defense of my freedom, and in support of Mrs. Fun, but I really don't want to.

Stay safe and well everyone, and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

Good morning all!
Thanks for today’s start, Martin
We spent the night in Brunswick, GA.
Yesterday’s traffic was ok, slow a times but moving well fo the most part.
We’re headed up 95 to Bar Harbour, but, that will not be today’s destination. I’m thinking, possibly somewhere around Washington would be good enough. My sister is traveling well, she will be 89 in September! We’re in the car Judy had bought long before she knew me. I’ve now put many more miles on it than she ever did!
Take care & enjoy your day!!

“Miles to go before I sleep!”

headed up 95 to Bar Harbour
Brian, when you're a bit further north, contact me. I-95 will take you (after you cross the line) very close to my home. Could buy you a meal, or possibly provide a bed or two.

Like everyone else, I'm enjoying coffee, and contemplating the day. Great riding weather, so naturally there'll be some riding. But first, load up a couple of big pry bars and things into the Maverick, and go see about grabbing a big slab of rock as a step for my daughter's garage back man door. Got one last fall for the front door, maybe that's what caused the hernia! We'll see how it goes...

Morning all, and thanks Martin for the startup. Glad the trip was decent for you guys.

If the issue is too many hats and not enough hands, Peter's sure using his head for a solution!

Another cold frosty morning here. 4C outside, but clear and gloriously sunny. It'll stay sunny and move up to 15 later on. Currently it's only 17 in the house, as the heat's been turned off until the Fall.

Not much on the docket today that I know of. I did pickup 3 trailer tires for he Leech, so I may tackle manually removing the old bias tire and slapping on the fresh new radials on the rims. No fancy tools (I do have a cheap bead breaker) so it'll be break out the tire irons.

Hope everyone has an excellent Saturday, and safe travels.

Obo.

Good morning and thanks for the coffee, Martin.

It's sunny and 50, becoming cloudy as the temperature rises to 59, later.
Rain at some point, maybe overnight.

I'll try to get outside today, to wash and reinstall the Wing's cover.
I bought some ant insecticide, yesterday so I'll try to spread that, before any rain arrives.

Brian, have a good trip back north.

Enjoy the day ,
Steve

Good morning, everyone. Thanks for the coffee, Martin.

67/77 and another day of rain. @ibike2havefun I’m sending you another present. Here’s a clue.

When I asked for rain, I didn’t realize that I had signed up for a subscription.

I was upset about losing one of my squirrels to a hawk this week, but yesterday there were 5, yes 5 squirrels, on my covered deck. All eating sunflower seeds and playing like it was the fun house at a McDonald’s. This was during one of the downpours, quite similar to kids playing indoors during a storm.

Hi everyone who's still here, and to those who may appear, or return later.
Got up early, fed the cats, and went back to bed. All the rain and storms predicted may appear later, but for now it's nice temps and clear skies.
So much to do, it's exhausting just thinking about it. Maybe that's a hint it's time for a nap?
At least it's worth thinking about...
Add for the squirrels, I was in the back yard with Kaiser earlier, and i heard my neighbor picking them off with his air rifle. But it may have been the chipmunks -- we have an endless supply of both.
His rifle is expensive, used by the international Olympic air rifle teams, with glass that cost more than the rifle itself. It is nearly silent, not at all like my .22 Marlin lever action.
And he is deadly with it.
Even with the Colibri powderless cartridges (the bullet is only propelled by the primer) the report of my .22 is sufficiently audible to attract unwanted attention. And their lower power makes them ineffective beyond 60 yards.
But reassuring news for John, I haven't shot any rodents in over a year. My neighbor has the range and accuracy to cover both our back yards, if he can just see them. Lots of trees for cover. For them, that is.
I don't envy Brian for his trek up 95. On a holiday weekend, to boot.
At my age and temperament, I am pretty good at not getting stuck on interstate parking lots. And 95 is one of the worst, to my understanding, even though i haven't ridden that way going either direction in at least 10 years. We mostly took 85 to the west of the mountains, which was night and day difference.
Safe peaceful travels is my wish for you, @Whisker Bill.
And for the rest of y'all, if you're tripping this Memorial Day.
Meanwhile, I would encourage everybody to stop and remember those young Americans who gave their lives for us to enjoy what we have today, and to appreciate them and their families.
Peace.

Morning Martin (still 44 minutes of morning left here ;) & All from sunny, Southern Utah!

Currently it is 75F, up from 47F, and heading for 79F. The winds are already blowing from the S @ 7 and later from the SW @ 16 to 22mph.

Welcome back Martin, glad you and the GF had a good ride/time! :hat3:

It sounds like you all in the East are getting the weather we had last week! I wished we could have got more rain out of it though. :(

I'm almost done with the upper part of the front yard planter. I put down the landscaping cloth, ran a drip line, planted the Red Dragon and added woodchips down. I need to fix the water outlet I used on the tree. And spread the other three bags of mulch and that will pretty much finish that part of it.

I'm using the blocks to hold the down the drip line, since it wants to curl up.

Boiled eggs, bacon, toast & OJ for the morning start. Pepsi(s) will be had later.

Anyone :bk13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:

M4 with silencer not an option? ;)
You mean, "sound suppressor"?
No, not really an option, if the aim is (see what I did there? Pay attention, @Obo) to be truly undetectable. The noise is greatly reduced, but not at all eliminated.
Although, the GOOD news is, suppressors in the USA (well, in most states) no longer require all the licensing, expense, waiting, and hoops to jump through, thanks to the One Big Beautiful Bill.
The Tax Stamp Elimination: Under the "One Big Beautiful Bill" (OBBB) signed into law, the federal government officially dropped the mandatory $200 transfer tax required for suppressors under the 1934 National Firearms Act (NFA) to $0.
But we still fill out the usual paperwork, as if purchasing a weapon.
And by the way, Hollyweird has misled a lot of people about what "silencers" actually sound like. As well as much else about firearms' function, behavior, effect, and just about everything.

Looks very good!
Contact your local [town name] committee so they can put up your [town name] Beautification Award sign.

Thank you!

They would award me with a fine for having too much grass in my yard! :rofl1:

A good suppressor and some of the "suppressor" grade ammo will make the 22 significantly quieter than the air rifle. "Regular" Standard Velocity 22 instead of "High Velocity" will have a reduced sound, "Subsonic" thru the suppressor will match most air rifles. I may have done a bit of experimenting!
