Good morning everyone

To welcome in the weekend (okay, really just because I need it badly) I've got a pot of Cubano roast going. There's plenty to share so step up and don't hold back as you pour.

Speaking of pouring, it's a very wet 53°F (which feels like just 44 thanks to a 10 mph W wind) in Rockville, where off-and-on evening showers continued overnight. They're apparently done now, and we'll gradually transition to clear skies by late this afternoon. The high will be ... 54. Autumn has arrived once again, after what felt like a summer day yesterday.

We're headed for a Virginia winery today, where we'll meet Mrs. Fun's oldest sister as well as said sister's middle daughter, her husband, and his parents- all people we like and with whom we enjoy spending time.

Before departing, I've got a few more emails to send out on various ukulele-related topics. And maybe a nap, to add to the more-than-usual amount of sleep I got overnight. (Though I can tell it wasn't nearly enough, either in quantity or degree of restorative power.)

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

Morning all, and thanks for the coffee, Keith.

5C and cloudy, headed to 8. Between the winds and clouds, it's a "feels like" 0 currently and 4 later on. Seems like the bike weather took an abrupt "off" switch. I'm not impressed. Doesn't nature know you need to slowly wean someone off an addiction?

1st world problems, I know.

Regardless, I hope you all have a great day.

Obo.

Good morning, everyone. Thanks for the coffee, Keith.

What a difference a day makes. Yesterday it was 65, but today it’s 47, but feels like 38 with the 12 MPH breeze that’s gusting to 25. High should only reach 61, with clouds. Teddy was a little hesitant about coming back in. It’s becoming his season.

Strange dreams last night. I was sitting on a bike, in front of our local mall, and a half-dozen foreign fighter jets were circling the area at treetop level. All the bystanders were just saying Oohs and Aahs, not realizing we were probably at war. I think the dream was caused by something I ate…..back in the ‘60’s.

Nothing planned, nothing failed.

Good morning from Southwestern Ontario. I woke up before 05:00 and laid in bed thinking there's no reason to get up this early on a Saturday then it dawned on me that it got cold overnight and I figured the summer patio plants would be at the door looking to come inside. I checked my phone and it was +1C. I got up and brought the vulnerable plants into the sunroom and garage then back to bed. My wife asked what I was doing then she thought the indoor plants that were still in the sunroom should come into the house.
Well no one is going back to sleep so up & at 'em. My coffee was gone before anyone posted this morning. Not sure I'm going to get a ride in today. Maybe wax the cars in the garage to get them ready for whatever they spread on the roads these days to melt the snow and ice.

Thanks Keith. I don't recall if you've ever disclosed the origins of the Cubano blend, but it's hard not to automatically associate it with the island country found in the first four letters.
But it's not known for volcanoes, although there are mountains. So they may grow coffee beans... but then there are the trade restrictions, which would lead me to believe this coffee is not from there.
But I've never stressed over the uncertainty, and there's even an actor whose first name matches the island name. He pronounces his name slightly differently.
Before Alabama trounces Tennessee in Knoxville today, Roz and I are going to visit a neighbor couple to hear how a clean eating program apparently made his prostate cancer go into full remission.
Pat was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer (I don't yet know the name of it), and at an advanced stage. He had several bouts of radiation and chemotherapy.
Roz had a girlfriend she's known since high school, who was diagnosed with breast cancer several years ago, who took a similar path. Her doctors were strongly recommending a double mastectomy to save her life, but she flatly refused.
Instead she began started researching alternative medicines, completely changed her eating habits (which were not awful to begin with, unlike mine), and was cancer free within a year.
Today she is still natural, whole, and very attractive, with beautiful long hair that falls below her waist. We visit her sometimes at her home on the lake, which includes a fabulous guest quarters above the boathouse where she keeps a grand pontoon boat.
The FDA in the USA has been a boondoggle for decades, which in my non-medical mind, is a huge contributing factor in our country's poor illness, allergy and health condition.
But we also have our part to play... I'm quite sure that the quantity of peanut butter, ice cream and chocolate and such that I consume, is not the optimal diet for sustaining excellent health.
But look -- I never promoted myself as the role model for healthy eating, ok?
So don't do as I do, and don't do as I say.
You should be fine.
What to do today, what to do?
There are things, so I'll find something.
Never mind the cold snap down here, I knew it would happen.
Grab a coat, and have a great day.

a wet and cooler start today but hope to get out and about on some thing or other
try to nail down some tires for my 65 Catalina never guessed how problematic finding 14 inch tires manufactured in even the last millennium would get

wish everyone a safe ride if you're able

Morning Keith & All from sunny, Southern Utah!

Currently it is 57F, up from 36F and heading for 69F. A slight breeze now, but later the winds will be out of the NW @ 7 to8mph. The weather guessers now have our next storm, pushed off till Thursday. I just might get some yard stuff done this week, while Chris is at her Quilt Retreat.

Remember the Workbench I picked up from the neighbor the other night. I found a perfect place for it. Since I do a lot of work out of my Large Shed, I put it in there and I can run an extension cord for power. I mounted one of my leftover 4' work lights, up under the top part. Works great! :)

I'll be helping Chris pack her Highlander with four 6' tables and such, so she'll be all packed up and ready to go, tomorrow.

Cold cereal & a banana with some Lemon Tea, to start the morning. Pepsi for later.

Anyone :dr13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:

As always, started my day with coffee. This time in a travel mug. Set off on the TransCanada Highway, driving my Odyssey, trailer in tow. On the trailer, a 140 KLX, which I had used to teach three grandkids all about clutching, braking, etc. - all the stuff us older folks take for granted. By pre arrangement, the little bike was traded even for a 2007 Silverwing. Took the new-to-me Honda for a quick ride upon getting back home. I think I like it. Hopefully my grandaughter will too, it'll be a springtime surprise!
