Up and at 'em campers, the day is young but we are not. Good thing there's coffee and soda for you lot, specifically French Roast and Pepsi. Some of you are discerning folks, so I've been told.

Saturday's here, regardless if you're still of the working for pay or taking it easy kind.

Here it's a foggy morning, sitting at 14C. The crows are outside making a murderous racket. Later it should get up to 19, but may be a little wet.

Today's lawn tractor pickup day, leaving in about 45 minutes. I'm just waiting for a buddy with a flatbed to arrive.

Hope everyone's well, and has some fun today.

Hugs,

Obo.

Good morning, and thanks for the wake-up juice, Obo. I think I'll have the coffee.
You KNOW you'll have to try it out, after your new tractor is back home.

It's partly cloudy and 64 in MA this morning, rising to 83 with more partly cloudy conditions. Weather Underground says there's a small chance for a shower, but they also say it's partly cloudy, when I see blue sky.

We did go into Boston, yesterday, to attend the Red Sox game. We won!
Our starting pitcher gave 6 good innings, but faded in the 7th. The replacements hung on for the win.

Going home, we had to stop for about 15 minutes, while the police handled some unruly passengers in the back of our train. We also got to talk with a young man who had attended the World Cup game from Colorado. He was impressed with MA and we had a nice convo, before the police matter occurred.
We were home by 0030 and in bed by 0045, which is good, because I've got to work at the track, today

Have a great day,
Steve

If you can't stand to slurp a scolding hot cup on a hot summer morning,
you're just weak and will never survive the dawning apocalypse... :coffee:

G'Day...

23°/38°C, glaring blue skies, some wind, which feels like staring into a hand-drier... ☀️
(not only have they issued the obligatory "heat warning", they now even strongly advise persons over 65 to remain indoors...
meanwhile I wonder if this also applies to farmers who have to feed their livestock and take care of produce...)

at GF's place, large supplies of Nespresso... ☕
(I'm on my 3rd cup = 6 capsules = feeling a tad jittery... 🙃)

Its indeed starting get uncomfortable outside... 🥵
despite the inviting garden shower... 🚿
I moved the lawn edges, ze GF was out at the car wash...
we packed her (now clean) winter tires/wheel into the basement... 🛞
guess we gonna stay indoors till dawn... 🌆

yesterdays ST carb transplantation went exceptionally well...
almost no syncing required, the '94 is purring absolutely smooth, no bogging, no hesitations...
on whacking the throttle fully open at ~2000rpm its like she takes a deep breath and then takes off like a stabbed cougar... 😎

no other plans this w/e, I might use the confinement to detail the routes for the trip to Sweden... :dr11:

enjoy the Saturday 😎

Thanks @Obo , and enjoy the new ride. Makes it a lot less work, in my experience. Except for the trying to get mine running again (small details), my non-scientific research indicates roughly a 250% increase in production (or results.)
Put another way, it takes me two-and-a-half the amount of time to cut my yard walking behind a push mower (with half the cutting width of the rider, which seems logical), untold and immeasurably more exertion, and a lot more sweat, than it does to sit on my fat arse and steer and raise and lower the mowing deck.
So good on ya.
But I don't have to mess with snow blowers, so there's that.
I've already been up for 2 hours, finished my pot of Black Rifle, and will do some things today.
Later, most likely.
Got to finish my piddling, first, and of course check in on all you guys.
Later we'll have lunch with one of our nieces... the restaurant is called something like Culinary Dropout, now housed where the Macaroni Grill used to be (R.I.P.), one of my all-time favorite eateries.
The Penne Rustica (grilled shrimp, prosciutto, and chicken on a bed of pasta) and their brick-oven-baked bread was like nothing else.
But in a delicious way.
Alas, that fine eatery is no more.
Nor is Alabama's oldest Red 🦞 Lobster just up the road (like, since I was in junior high school, for a time reference). But goodness knows, I could see this coming years ago. Crummy food (everything except the salad and cheese biscuits were frozen), no upgrades, little maintenance, dingy and dated appearance, and more.
And here, once again, I've wandered down a rabbit trail, lost my way, and have no idea of what or if I was gonna tell y'all about anything else.
Which may directly indicate the level of importance, I suppose.
At least I entertain myself, with such ambivalence and lack of direction.
But at least it's not hurting anyone.
So I'm having a warm, breezy, typical sunny and hot late-June summer Saturday.
My time of year.
No lake, no beer, no waterskis, and no boat, but that's ok.
It's summertime, and I'll get by.
Summer won't be here forever (the Endless Summer, at least in the South, was a myth.)
Have a great day, won't you please?

Good morning all!
Thanks for the start, Obo.

Well, it seems I may have a deal after all!
I’ll have to come up with a name for this tiny ranch!
No plans for any animals, other than myself!
As I mentioned, this will (in my opinion) require perimeter ditching.
Previous attempts - poorly done, failed.
Currently 66F cloudy, but we’ll get to 74.

G'mornin' from Flo-Rida! We're at a toasty 87F/30.5C after several summer pop-up storms rolled through overnight. I was tempted to be the first to write in, but that would have required a coffee in hand and a commitment to get out of bed. Neither of which I intended to do...not for this lot. So, thanks for picking up the flag today, Obo!

Yesterday was fairly productive, as today should be. Garage door is mostly done, got 8 of the ten rollers replaced and it is already much quieter. The bottom 2 are attached to the spring cables and so require more effort and finesse. Icebox water was "fixed". It was actually never broken the MIL just thought it was still leaking so had it shut off by the HH aide. Wish they had told me this BEFORE I spent 2 hours pulling everything out and checking the lines. :-/ And finally replaced the bathroom faucet aerators that were broken from age.

The MIL chose last night to start up with her rhetoric, taking small perceived slights from long ago as insults to blame others including her daughter (my wife). I was already in bed, but it took all my will power to not storm out and put her back in place. My wife, being from Brooklyn, is well and capable of standing her own ground. Anyhoo, between that cacophony and the storms, sleep last night was stunted.

Today's assignment is to get the aerator replaced for the kitchen sink (it is of course different) and do some power washing. Then take the MIL to the pool. Anything else I think will be a bonus and a relief to wasting time arguing. Better get a move on, take care y'all!

Morning Obo & All from a still :wind1: and smoky in many areas in Utah, Southern Utah!

Currently it is 73F, heading for 81F with more winds, all day! Currently they are blowing from the SSW @ 17mph, and later, from the SW @ 27 to 43MPH.

More fires in Utah, have popped up since yesterday. And several of the large fires have gotten much bigger. Pretty much 50% of the state is on fire now! They did cut our power yesterday from about 3 PM to about 8:30PM.

Around 8PM, last night, I decided to pull out my generator, that I bought about 4.5 years ago and have never done anything with it, other than pushing it around in the shed to get to other things... So I added the oil, hooked up the battery (that's been sitting the whole time), pushed the starter and it turned it over, no problem. So I hit the starter a number of other times to get the oil circulating, hooked up the LP and it started right off. I plugged a work light into it, and it had LIGHT! :run1:

Note: my first time EVER, working with a generator.

We might lose power again today, we'll see.

Boiled eggs, bacon, toast & OJ for the morning start. Thanks for the Pepsi(s), Obo, I'll help myself to a couple in a bit.

Anyone :bl13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:

May you enjoy many hours of insect free mowing!!! :rofl1:
shopping

@ST1100Y no uncrateing tasks, as the dealer did all that and the PDI. No extra cost (well it's likely hidden in the total price.....) but the dealer prices exactly like the Cub Cadet website, and threw in the fuel. I do have to change the break-in oil and filter at 5hrs. Mower has a 22hp Kohler twin in it. I would rather of had the Kawasaki engine, but so be it.

As for the bug hat, I do have one that similar but in olive green. :)

2/3 of the lawn done now, and it only took 42 mins. (sitting at 1.5hrs on the meter, where it was 0.8 before.) There is still lots of edging around the bushes, trees and hedges; as well as some steep grades, that will need the push mower. Mrs. O is happy, other than the first couple of passes where I had the blade set too low and scalped the lawn. I also only got it stuck once on a high spot. Said spot is a bit lower now thanks to the two blades....
