The rubber gasket on my Shoei Qwest tore because of the fog shield insert and Shoei doesn't replace them anymore. Sucks too because I just replaced the fog shield. The helmet has also been used for over 100k miles and 8yrs.
Anyway, I tried on the Schubert C3 lite (white) and didn't like the amount of flex in the shell though a modular would be nice passing through check points.
I wanted to stay below $300 so most of the Cycle Gear helmets were out of the question. I have an oval head so that also limits me. Helped eliminate the C3 too.
The Sedici is a true intermediate oval. I am also transitioning down one size from L to M. The fit is very snug and not as quiet as my Qwest. I think the top vents are causing a high tone whistle. Upside is the helmet has flip down sunglasses and a clear and a mirrored visor.
The other requirement was not black.
