Sena SR10 Bluetooth Adapter for FRS Two Way Radio and Radar Detectors

I just got the Sena SMH10 Bluetooth Headset & want to be ble to listen to my music on the SD card but I believe the Zumo will only transmitt in mono. Will this unit transmit a Zumo 550's mp3 player to stereo?

I know nothing of the sena unit but the only way to get stereo music out of a zumo 550 is to hook up a bluetooth dongle to the stereo 3.5mm output of the zumo and then send a bluetooth signal to your headset, In this way your headset would be paired to the new dongle for stereo, and could still be paired to the zumo 550 as a cell pnone only.........maybe..... I personally stay away from bluetooth it is a PITA

The other way would be to forget the bluetooth and wire everything up thru a Autocom

ps the newer zumo 665 does broadcast via bluetooth protocols, then the problem becomes are the headset and the zumo compatable ? This is the problem with bluetooth ....
 
I called Sena this week and the SR 10 will be available to the general public in late May-early June time frame.
I personally like the Sena unit for bike to bike as there is no delay waiting for the two way FRS/GMRS radio channel to open up. I recently used the Sena unit on a long trip and the battery life last a full riding day of 8 to 10 hours.
 
I wrote to SENA this morning with the following questions- I will post any response I get.

I have not bought a Bluetooth intercom yet, primarily because I am not satisfied with any of the systems being mature enough yet. My primary complaint is that I do not want to get locked into one brand of Bluetooth intercom.
I have a cheap wired set for when I need intercom with a pillion, but most of the time I am using either wired earbud to a cellphone/Iphone or lately I use a bluetooth 'pendant' style (Sony Ericsson Hi-Fi Bluetooth MW600) that I can use my own headsets. I like the in the ear solution since it also acts like earplugs to block out road noise and effectively provides better signal (music) to noise (road) ratio than in the helmet speakers.

This looks to be the type of bluetooth item that I have been waiting for. The main problems that I have with Bluetooth solutions have been that;
1- Incorporating various items and brands of equipment together (PTT, radar, GPS, etc).
2-one intercom brand cannot talk to another intercom brand.
This appears to be a perfect solution for the first problem, but not the second. From my read from the website, this will not enable communication to more than one Bluetooth headset, either the rider or the pillion.

It would be great if this could be used to coordinate two different brands of Bluetooth intercom to work together. Can you please clarify this functionality of the SR10?
1-Can both the rider and pillion listen to the same music source through the SR10 via bluetooth?
2-Can the rider and pillion communicate with each other using different brands of Bluetooth headset/intercoms through the SR10?

And of course… What is the expected availability and price?
 
any time you are operating 2 different systems sena and frs, autocom and frs, the main vox will engage quickly but there will be a delay before the radio engages, this is why I use a ptt with a frs/gmrs radio ----the response is immediate so u do not experience the delay or clipping.
