Slowdown

I tried a Schuberth C2 and just couldn't get on with it, it was really uncomfortable, great optics though.

Saw this Shark Evoline, the chin bar can be flipped right over, unlike other flips that just rise to the vertical position. So I thought I would try one out

After a month and 1000+ miles the verdict:
Excellent!,

Extremely comfy,

Good build quality, stainess steel clips etc

Very easy to add comms unlike the schuberth,

Good optics on the visor with nice quick release mechanisms, it doesn't mist and no leaks via the flip front even in torrential Scottish downpours.

It's quite heavy but after a few 300+ mile days it's not really a problem.
The mechanism is superb, the one downside is that you need to have the visor UP to flip the chin bar, you will forget the first few times - i did:o: but soon it becomes very natural.

Internal sun shield works well, enough to look though without hitting your nose, it's even got a cut out for those with the larger nose!

Quieter than the C2, similar noise levels to a Multitec, not as quite as my previous Roof but very good for a flip.

I spend a lot of time especially around town with the chin bar flipped back, its very good up to 90mph with the bar back, over that officer it needs the bar down, oddly enough it's quieter at speed 60ish with the bar back??
It only takes a second or so to flip so coasting into a town and hey presto open face helmet.

5 Year warranty!!

I thought this helmet was going to be a bit of a gimmick but it's turned out to be one of the best helmets I’ve ever owned, do I recommend it

OH YES!!:D

Have a look on the net there are some great deals on this helmet I paid ?183 delivered

I have had mine since November last year,
they are a great helmet love mine for all the reasons you state.
A word of caution though. The plastic part above the chin vent fell off mine and I have had no luck with the local suppliers getting me a new one. It maybe my local area rep who's rubbish I hope so, but shark will not deal direct with the customer you have to go through a dealer. So if I was you I would check the top of the vent and if it's a bit loose GLUE IT IN.

I checked the Sharp testing site the Shark only stayed closed in 70% of the tests the schuberth and Nolan stayd closed in 100% of the tests.

Cheers for the Heads up Alphfang, just checked and no probs with any of the vent parts, but i'll keep an eye on them.

Steve the Sharp tests have been universally knocked by many manufacturers including schuberth.

Yup it is useful but the Sharp ratings only form part of my choice, I stand by my recomendation.

Chin room is no problem and that's from someone blessed in the chin dept:D, I found the schuberth "skirt" brushed my face each time i closed it, the Sharp has no problems

I think this is the one that was at the IBA national meet last year. Visor won't break or something like that. They were bending it in their demo.

Just want to add a footnote here. This week there was cause for.a paramedic to have to remove my Shark Evoline 2. One...the helmet performed flawlessy during the incident and Two...the medics reckoned it was the easiest helmet either had encountered to take off properly. Both were bikers too. The helmet has to go but will be replaced with another SE2. Thank you Mr.Shark.
