I tried the HJC is-33 , took the shield off and did an hour ride , man I was happy to get it off , felt like someone was squeezing my head and that was a size larger than I was suppose to have. So now I'm looking at the Shoei J-Cruise, I have a simple question, everything I read says the sizing is accurate and my measurement shows 57 cm so I ordered a medium. For you's that have one how did you find the fitment ? What should I expect?
Thanks

My medium J-Cruise in 2XL fits as well as my Neotec in the same size. I also wore a 2XL HJC Symax. If you find that you want to tweak the sizing, Shoei offers cheek pads and crown pads in varying sizes.
Thanks for the info, did you happen to measure your noggin and order the helmet that fell into your measured range?

My medium J-Cruise in 2XL . . .
Why don't I understand this?

I have a XXL J-Cruise helmet shell. The XXL liner inserts that came with it were a little to loose fitting and the helmet would shift down on my face. I called Shoei in Tustin California and they sent me the next size smaller inserts to tighten things up. My J-Cruise now fits perfectly.

Got my j-cruise today in a medium which I'm suppose to be according to sizing chart , been wearing it around the house for over an hour and it feels good , does the padding break down a bit? Does feel just a bit snug on the cheeks but other wise good fit.

Should 'give' just a bit. Enjoy your new Shoei.

If it's not painful that sounds like a good fit. It will break in a little but mostly you will get used to the correct fit. What I learned from selling helmets, (Shoei, HJC, Arai) is most people buy helmets that are too big for them. If it is already a tad loose when new that is too big. If it makes the skin on your skull and cheeks move when the helmet is manipulated that is a firm fit and probably the safest correct sizing.

I have a predecessor to the J-Cruise, the J-Wing. I found that this model 3/4 fit a rounder head better than the Neotec. On my longish oval head the J-Wing pressed a hot spot above my forehead.

In my experience, the crown doesn't tend to loosen up much; the cheek pads will pack down a bit. Sounds like you have a good fit.

Just wanted to give an update ( I hate leaving things in limbo) . I sent the J-cruise back, just wasn't comfortable. I did do a road trip down to Toronto area where I visited GP Bikes and also Royal Distributing just a couple buildings over, I ended up going with the Gmax in a Medium , it was a bit tight to start but I now have about 3000 km riding with it and after spending 2 days with rain really like it now. When the shield is down it makes a weird noise in my helmet but no biggy , shield works good for the rain and I use the drop down sun visor when I'm riding into the bright sun along with my lightly tinted blue sunglases which I use normally to brighten up the cloudy days. Overall I've gotten quite use to it.
