2023 Yamaha Super Tenere
On my ride yesterday, we stopped for lunch. I got off the bike (Yamaha Super Tenere) and put it on the center stand. I took my helmet off and placed it on the passenger backrest. I then went towards the front of the bike and tripped on either the center stand or the side stand that was sticking out. I hit the handlebar, it spun me around and I landed on my back, banging my head on the pavement. Knocked me out cold.
I woke up to first responders. They checked me out for an hour or so, checking vitals, asking lots of questions and bandaging my bleeding head. After determining that they couldn't find anything wrong with me they left.
We sat there and got something to eat and then I rode 175 miles home. Taking my helmet off when I got home was a bit painful.
All in all, I feel good but don't know how long it's going to be before I can wear my helmet again.
Morale of the story, wear your helmet at all times, even going in to eat! I guess I'm going to have to ditch my full face and get a modular!
