Some clutch parts questions

I’ve ordered EBC-CSK96 clutch springs (which partzilla specified) for my ‘05 ST, but I’m finding several other sources listing CSK175 as the correct part. Upon inspection, the new springs (CSK96) are noticeably shorter than OEM. Will either work? Did I screw up?

Also, I’ve forgotten the orientation of the judder spring and seat. Can someone remind me how it fits within the basket?

Thanks in advance.

My HSM says (pg 9-4) that the clutch spring free length is 55.1mm (2.17") with a service limit of 54mm (2.13"). With a difference of only 1mm your pictured spring looks too short to me compared to the original. However, it really depends on the spring strength.

Thanks SMSW. I did check the Service manual and found that info. As you say it depends on the strength. I was hoping someone had experience with these springs and figured out whether they worked. My gut feeling is they would work...

Anyone else run into this issue with the CSK96 replacement clutch springs being shorter than the original springs?

They are listed as fitting the ST1300 as well as other bikes.

Thanks
Apologies for not returning to answer my own question. I contacted EBC directly, and CSK96 are, in fact, the wrong spring. Not only are they wrong, they’re wrong in every way a spring can be wrong…height, inside diameter, outside diameter, number of turns, and wire thickness. The only similarity with the correct part is being the same color and vaguely spring-like in shape. I guess that’s the risk when you trust a huge supplier like Partzilla.
Here are the parts I used for the job:

EBC CSK175 springs
EBC CK1297 clutch kit
BARNETT-401-35-063027 steel plates

Now here’s where things get annoying. The reason I was even dealing with the clutch was because of a leaking impeller shaft seal, and it was so much work to get everything apart, it seemed silly to not do the clutch job since I was in there, and the bike had 96k on it, even though the clutch showed no signs of needing replacement (stupid me). Even the difference in thickness between the new and used friction plates was negligible. The reassembly went well, but now the bike clunks hard into first gear, neutral is hard to find, and the clutch drags. I told a mechanic friend about the symptoms, and he told me that’s not uncommon when using aftermarket parts. So anyway, yay me.
