Spam calls

As already mentioned set up your phone to pass through only those calls from people in your contacts.

All other callers go to voicemail. In my experience most scammers / spammers will not leave a VM. If the call is legitimate the caller will leave you a VM and you can return their call at your convinience.

Anyone here know how to stop spam calls? They are driving me crazy. Had to deal with 67 of these calls yesterday and they just keep piling on. Medicad BS, talking to robots selling whole life death benefits. Sometimes piling on top of themselves three at a time. Downloaded Active Armor and it doesn't even phase the calls. Got five more calls in the AT&T store after downloading Active Armor before I could even get out the door. I wish I could kick my phone and it would come out the other end on their a$$. Or their nose.
Anyone have an answer?
As far as I'm concerned, all these are illegal.
Only a very few use their own business number....so I guess they are not spammers but simply bothering me for business that if I needed, I would have already taken care of.
Most, maybe 10 each day are spoofing others' phone numbers. Spoofing is illegal, but unprosecuted 'cause most of it comes from offshore judging by the accents and difficulty speaking English. (I'm not intending to offend recent US high school graduates) Several times I've called myself and gave me a sales pitch. Spoofing legitimate phone numbers bypasses the safeguards in most 'spam defender' routines.
The older you become, the more you will get.

I let all of them ring till they go to voicemail, a few weeks back I was getting about 20 a day just out of the blue. Today the calls are non-existent.
I hope you are right. 12:41 and I have received 78 spam calls today and barely afternoon. Never knew I was so popular.
These yahoos ain't gettin my tire money!!

I just created a new language to talk to them. They even put a language expert on me....his response was where the he'll are you from......i answered....un dow mi nocky nock da......never heard from them again.

A few weeks ago, I was researching (on the web) healthcare options in the event I wanted to fully retire and had to purchase HC on my own (and they ask for your email and phone numbers to get you a quote). Holy crap! The number of phone calls received was insane. One number from NJ (my cell number starts with 609 area code as I kept my number originally from NJ all these years) called at least 30x. I picked up once and immediately said ‘you really need to stop calling this number’ which cut down the number of calls I get but I still get calls from insurance brokers I never enlisted. Of the many calls and emails I got, 2 were helpful…and I continue to work 2 days a week. If I don’t recognize the caller, I don’t answer and just read the voice mail after it’s transcribed (unless they don’t leave a message).

On a landline phone, record this message with no recording of a message option, just a quick disconnect. On a cell, send unwanted calls not in contacts, to this message immediately with no recording as well.
