  1. Russell Day Long seat. Can't put in the miles without it. :) Seconded by my passenger.
  2. 90 degree valve stems. Sweet!
  3. I so want the automatic cruise control, but have settled for the BrakeAway throttle lock.
  4. Clearwater Glenda LED lights
  5. Garmin 590 GPS; factory style wiring and a (finally) fantastic GPS.
  6. Heated gear; the full Monty.
  7. Wolo air horn
  8. Bluetooth intercoms
  9. GIVI E55 top case, with AdMore LED tail/brake/turn signal lights.

What do you consider the best/most important upgrades you have done or would do.

ME, You've got to ask the question appropriately... ;)

Five-Best-Farkles

This old thread is interesting to me because it reminds me of riders that no longer visit this forum and also because the answers are grouped from two different eras; 2006 & 2010.

My list of farkels I find indispensable in no particular importance:

  • Audiovox cruise control
  • Hondaline topbox w/ spoiler
  • Garmin Zumo 550
  • Russell DayLong saddle
  • HID headlights

Well, here's the list of mods to our 2009 ST1300. Some may seem a bit odd but it's set up for our touring holidays -

Baglux tank cover and bag
Turbo Tom Radiator guard
Ivans FCE to resolve the hair-trigger throttle
Needle roller head bearings
90 degree right-angle tyre valves
Changed from the silly plastic clip to an allen bolt to secure the inspection panel on the fairing - not a good description I know!
Mountings for Point Two air vests that we both wear

+ I'm booked in to get my dash lights modded this year and have the GPI added into the dash as well.

My favorites -

Suspension mods
Stuff stopper
Switchbacks for the front indicators.
Sargent seat.

Comfort, safety and keeping the bike clean works for me!

suspension front and rear
Russell Seat
ccs100 cruise control
and then everything else

I can't rate them individually. I can group them.

Assumption: You have gloves, riding suit, helmet, boots.

Tier 1:
Improved headlights over stock 45 watt bulbs
Handle bar risers
Seat improvement. Fit to your needs.
Garmin
Power socket for phone
Cramp buster
Tire repair kit

Tier 2:
Heated Grips
Blades
Top Box
Camp Bag
Additional brake lights
Throttle lock
Tool kit for anything in user manual
Rain suit
Mini flash light

Tier 3:
Senna head set
Heated vest
Spare power sockets - fuse block
Volt meter
Travel multi-meter
Fleece seat pad

My List is so short in comparison with others. In order of importance to me:
1) TomTom Rider on clutch reservoir;
2) Brake light flasher on OEM Hondaline topbox;
3) Heated grips;
4) Turn signal repeaters in mirrors;
5) Hondaline topbox for teh additional space.

Tried and removed:
6) BigDawg tipover bars - my wife's feet were in the way;
7) Sargeant seat - too firm for my wife's tender derrier.

Modified from Al's list (not necessarily in importance order):

Heli Gen 3 Bar Risers
MCL Highway blades
Russell All Day Long Seat
Hondaline TopBox
Turbo Tom Topbox Rack
Hondaline Knee Pads
Hondaline Center Tank Pad
Hondaline Mirror Deflectors
Hondaline Fairing Deflectors
Convex spot mirrors
Grab On Foam Grips
Vista Cruise throttle lock
G2 Tamer Throttle tube
Hondaline Quartlet harness
10W LED Driving lights
12V outlet plug (powerlet mounted in Helibar riser)
Bike Quip Frame Protectors
Bike Quip Swing arm/shock protector
Dual Helmet holder(mounted under the rack)
Turbo Tom Radiator guard
Nelson Rigg bike 1/2 cover (doesn't melt hitting the pipes when the pipes are hot!)
Saddle bag inner luggage
Garmin Nuvi 765T GPS
Cortech Mini Tankbag with GPS mount/cover
80W 9000LM Kit LED Headlight H4 High/Low Beam Bulbs 6000K
Blue Sea Six Terminal Fuse Block
Signal Dynamics Headlight modulator
K&N Air filter
Heated Liner
Heated gloves
Stebel Compact Nautilus (or similar)air horn
Stick on convex mirrors blind spot mirrors
Custon wiring harness from BlueSea (in rear of bike to front, 5 hot + one Negative)

(Would be nice but I don't have them mounted, nor probably will they ever be:
Hondaline heated grips )...

I think I got everything... X2 2010 and I still need to add many to the 2012.
